although i'm against proselitizing, (i'm pagan) i think the gideons aren't trying to convert to their religion. just offer it as an option.

When I travel I take my well-worn Bible with me. However, the Bibles left in hotel rooms are there for any who wish to read it. You aren't worried about throwing the telephone books away are you? If you don't want to use the phone book, you just leave it where it is. They have the numbers of many churches people in distress can call for assistance, prayer, and comfort. Those who do not wish to use the complimentary Bible can just leave it in the drawer. It really doesn't matter; you can't go anywhere that God isn't also there. You can deny Him; ridicule Him; ignore Him but you can't make Him vanish. He is love and we all know that love is stronger than hatred.

Have you heard that one mans trash is another mans treasure. If you dont want to read it then dont. Do you ever use the drawer when you are at a motel anyway? And if the other religions would furnish thier bibles I am sure that the motel would keep them in the drawer also. I am personally glad that they have them,because if someone wants to read the word of God then it is there no matter where they go.

I honestly feel if a hotel wishes to provide bibles to the rooms, then they need to respect the beliefs of others and provide copies of the Quaran, a Torah, the Vedas, and books on Wicca, Druidism, Paganism, and the holy texts of Buddism, and any other religious groups I have not mentioned. Then this practice of placing holy books within hotel rooms would be fair to all religions.

Any Believer that does not abide in God's own Word, does not know God, according too God Himself. Atheists are "chaff" A simile of the wretchedness of the wicked. Chaff is carried away by the lightest wind, and it's removal brings about cleansing by extracting what is utterly useless. (Ruth 1:22). They will NOT stand in the judgment. They will NOT be able to withstand God's wrath when He judges.( Paslams 76:7 Exra 9:15). This is not my opinion, this is God's very own Words, in the Bible. You know, the BIble? The same Bible atheist scholars quote. There is a reason God, said this. Psalms.1.1-3 Jer. 17:8 14:1 12. 1-2 18:9-10 Prov1.10-19 (vs 5) scoffers:(atheists) those who ridicule God and definatley reject His Law. Prov 1.:22 Ruth 1:22 Jer 18:7 (pull down-destroy) 1:10 (evil-calamity) 18:11

that or the stove - but I don't believe in burning books, even if it IS the bible. (and that's saying a lot for me. lol)
