I know it is some kind of application that starts when windows boots. Sometimes, when I go online I get an error message "nwiz has encountered a problem and needs to close"
I have run a virus scan but not a spyware scan.

Yes there are 2 types of nwiz, if you have a nvidia video card it is a driver that allows you to use multiple monitors, unless you have more than 1 hooked up you dont need it a search for nxiz.exe should find it you could delete it or use Msconfig.exe to deactivate it.

The other Nwiz is spyware.

The file can be safely removed if you dont need it.

It's probably part of the executable files of an NVidia video card. Try doing a search for "NWIZ.*" (without the quotes on your system, and chances are it'll show the occurences as being an NVidia file.
