I think most people are serious about their question. What some young girl should say to a possible boyfriend may not be serious to me, but it is very serious to her. Then there are the young guys that think they're smart by asking the stupidest thing they can think of. Fortunately that's not much. and they're ok too, in their way.
I like questions that are sincere. For instance, you seem disappointed by the stuff that comes up here, and I'm trying to give you another way of looking at it.

It would seem that way. But there are a few good, serious questions among all the chatting (which is a violation of the guidelines) and the adult content and racial epithets (also violations). But they are getting harder and harder to find.

And it doesn't help that people don't even attempt to put their questions in the correct categories. But, some categories seem to be better than others in terms of relevant questions: Sports, Business and Finance, and Science and Math seem to have fewer teens and pre-teens venting their angst.

Nope....just gotta find the categories that have them. Otherwise, have some fun with the obscure ones. If you serious all you life...you can get really bored. Some people ask off the wall questions to have some fun. Have fun back.

Serious questions are few and far between. Most questions can be answered by using a little common sense.

There are a lot of serious questions here. Where did you get that idea?

Just look under serious categories.

Law, math, computers, social and religion categories.

I think you have the wrong idea.

Serious questions are always welcome.

It's just that many people see this as some kind of a joke, and have to prove it, by posting.

no, but you will have a hard time getting very many serious answers... but if you ask it correctly... you may get an answer to your liking... or perhaps one that you don't like, but which is the correct one.

No, but they tend to be rare. I like writing interesting answers to interesting questions. Believe it or not, they do exist.
