There is a constitutional right to bear arms but there are limits. Handguns need permits and licenses in many places. There are limits on carrying long guns and useing them in illegal ways.
Laws make limits because of problems cause by guns in the past and present. This will always be so.

Thanks to the NRA and the Second Amendment Foundation, New Orleans gov't officials were forced to return legally-owned firearms that had been confiscated in the wake of Katrina. At first New Orleans officials publically denied (!) having done so, until evidence, like the video link you provided, was produced.
Short answer, yes we have the right.
Legislation is in the works to help prevent a repeat of this abuse of civil rights;

By the way, when the good guys have no police to protect them and are denied the means to protect themselves, what do you think happens ?

This is EXACTLY the reason the Founding Fathers created the Second Amendment. The sole purpose of the second Amendment is to protect the people from their government infringing on their rights. They were trying to disarm the city so they couldn't defend themselves, if the police became tyrannous.

The 2nd Amendment protects against improper federal regulations, and as currently interpreted prevents the federal government from preventing individuals from owning firearms. There is debate whether it was intended to refer to federal limitations on state militias, given the actual text of the amendment.
However, because the 2nd Amendment only blocks federal action, it doesn't limit state gun control laws, so it would only be individual state constitutions that might prevent states from regulating or banning gun ownership.

Yes there is, it's the Second Amendment.
Any restrictions on getting guns is a violation of that amendment. You should not have to register your guns. You should be able to just walk into a store and buy one, no questions asked.
