Sex is an important part of being alive. Why should kids not know about it? Many of the problems we have are because of ignorance.
Keep in mind that many of our society's attitudes toward sex were handed down from the first European settlers here: the Puritans, who also conducted witch hunts and burned many women alive as punishment (and who didn't bathe often because they would have to be naked to wash themselves).
My view is that any education is good when given at the proper time. Just before the beginning of adolescence would be a good time for sex education to be taught in schools. Of course, if the child asks sooner he should be given an answer--an honest and educational answer.
If a child asks a question, that means he/she is able to get a real answer. The child might never ask again.

Yes of course. Any kid ages 13+ should be introduced to sex education. It is very important that the kids know why and how their body is changing, what makes the boys go dumb in front of a pretty girl etc....
Esp about Sex, teenagers would practice safer sex, if they were educated. Saves a lot of trouble later.

ABSOLUTELY NOT.
It is not up to the parents to pass on the buck of educating their children about sex to the school system.
I don't want my 7 year old knowing how to unroll a condom on a cucumber, thank you.
Abstinence should be taught. Not morally (bible thumping), but just plain common sense.
Pregnancy and STD would rapidly drop if people would wait until they got married or at least get an engagement ring on their finger if they can't wait.
As for me, sex ed will begin AND end in my home, without any school involvement.

It should to an extent...and be age appropriate, but honestly it's going to be the parents job to educate their children when it comes to sex. They will always be the biggest influence in their childs life...not the school. That's a fact!

Yes, education is the key. It doesn't matter what age or how often. Learning to cover your winky can be put in sensitive enough language to start at the second grade or so. Never too soon! Teach them up!

Yes, but only at a reasonable age. My step son began experimenting things that he learned in sex ed that a 10 year old shouldnt know and im not talking about playing with himself. I would want to know exactly what is going to be taught before I agreed to let my children in that class

No, kids will find out anyway. They will know ALL the details soon enough. School should teach something usefull like traffic rules and polictical issues, and why George Bush is a total retard.

Appsolutly, Wether we admit it or not kids are talking and thinking about sex. Why not make sure they get the facts about it . Instead of what their friends have told them. Or before they go out and do it to find out what its about. No matter how close you are to your child there are going to be questions that they just don't want to ask you.

Yes, I think so. There is so much sexuality shown on T.V. and in movies and talked about in songs, etc... our western culture bombards you with casual sexuality... and children should understand the risks involved.
