i have been jobless for the past 2 mths plus ( i left my job becoz it doesn't offer me career opportunities) and ppl have been pestering me not to be choosy. I want a longtime job, not a job in which i work for a year or two and get out of it when i feel bored working there.

To top it off, my loved ones seems to think that i am not putting any effort in searching for a job (God knows i tried so hard) but there are some who totally understand how i feel. I don't want to be branded lazy! How can i make myself feel assured?

Super Junk here. I was jobless for over a year. Here are some tips for you.

1) Don't get discouraged.
2) Make sure that you send in applications every day
3) Even though you're unemployed, treat the job search as a job
4) Don't let other people make you feel inferior. You are what you think you are
5) Think about temp agencies and volunteer work in the meantime.
6) Don't allow yourself too much down time. This is when you start to feel discouraged or have negative thoughts. You might never have time off again -- use it to your advantage. Improve yourself.

Hope this helps. I finally got a job and am feeling much better about myself. I hope you do the same.

Well, follow your heart, find a job you want to do then do it. People that love there jobs are the most successful....You are in a position now to take advantage of maybe a career change. Turn this down side into something positive. Then people can never say you were lazy....Be patient and make the right choice for yourself....Good Luck....

Go to work until something better comes up. You can't wait on the most perfect job. Get a job and then keep on the lookout for the job you want. Also, a steady job history goes a long way in getting those good jobs, so go to work.

hey.. i also quit the job that i didnt find satisfying and had any possible career development. Every1 sez i was crazy since i was unemployed for a long time b4 i finally landed that job. But if i stayed, i might be liable to commit suicide....or even murder my boss! I know being unemployed can deteriorate your self confidence...but keep your chin up. Every dog has its day... Lists all your positive points, then believe and practice it.

I hear ya, it is much easier to get a job when you still have one. Otherwise it can be more difficult. Maybe you could try a temp agency? I know they place people in jobs that might possibly be temp to perm. Good luck, I hope you find one soon!

Why dont you come to work in Asia? So much jobs here...demand higher than supply.

Pay is good; i'd say its higher than in the states.

Crappy thing is that property prices are in the millions; rent is good option.
