The most underrated quality in a woman is her ability to relax her partner. I don't mean giving a back rub or foot massage. Sometimes just sitting on a couch, watching a stupid show on TV, taking a walk -- these simple things go a long way. Clingy usually means he feels suffocated. Don't shower him with affection. Be attentive but casual. Be jovial but not overly cheery. The most successful relationships are those where the guy feels at home whenever he's around you.

"Clingy" means requiring an unreasonable amount of time and physical proximity from one's partner. Guys especially dislike clinginess when it interferes with other hobbies or activities. As in "don't go fishing, stay here and sit on the couch with me..."

Guys like some space. But we also like some attention (and giving some, believe it or not). There's a delicate balance to find.

What's acceptable and not will vary from one guy to the next. Some guys like the girl to always hang on him, because it makes them feel needed and desirable. Other guys don't like any PDAs (Public Displays of Affection) for one reason or another. And there are the rest of the guys somewhere in the middle.

It's the same for skinny vs. curvy, long hair vs. short, outgoing vs. reserved, etc. Every person has their own individual characteristics that they like in a partner. Self-confidence is usually at the top of everyone's list though, so work on that and then you won't be "clingy" (a.k.a. needy).

Clingy is something like you are always sticking around with the person..you become something like a shadow.. and simply how a guy prefer a girl to do and not to do differ from the character of the guy..for me,i dun really mind a girl clinging all the time to me but when i am at work..i would hope to have the space to myself

Everyone is a little different. But everyone likes people who pay attention to the signals they are giving out.

If a guy indicates he needs time by himself or doing something without you respect that.

Everyone needs different amount of space at different times,
clingy means ignoring those signals, and insisting that the guy spend time with you when he doesn't want to,

If a guy really likes you and you give him space when he wants it,
he'll like you even more.

"Clingy" often means taking up all the guy's time, and demanding companionship whenever they are together.

Likes:

- Reciprocates
- Sincere
- Faithful and Loyal
- Sending personalised gifts
- Girls who are independent (but sometimes, asking a guy for assistance or letting the guy do the work does gives him a sense of responsibility. Most guys like that. It depends.)

Dislikes:

- Girls who call guys very frequently (Well, SMS will do most of the time. And well, it's usually the guys who do the calling).
- Girls who do not understand that guys sometimes need to be left alone
- Girls who often splurges during shopping sprees

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

Warmest Regards,
Patrick

clingy means, pretty much possessive, the girl calls pratically 24/7 to make sure ur not cheating. this would be a sign of no trust in the relationship. id like girls, specifically A girl (u know who u are <3) to do very naughty things to be. i dont like a girl who is possessive like that plus, she shouldnt do drugs, alcohol is fine, and she should have at least a goal in life that she wants to acheive

"Clingy" from "cling", to stick to something.

I think it might be slightly different for different guys.

Some, it might be that she inquires too much as to his whereabouts and goings on.

Other guys consider clingy to be a girl that simply "sticks" to him too much, always sitting up close, touching; basically sorta hogging his attention.

Personally, I would NEVER get annoyed with my girl getting too close; but I just might get annoyed if she asked way too many questions about what I am doing.

Sometimes I just need to work and a constant barrage of calls as to "what" I am doing is counter-productive. I SUPPOSE those girls do so because THEY themselves want such attention.

It would be alright for a call at lunch and dinner, and MAYBE occassionally one call during production time for something sweet or noteworthy. But, generally, guys would rather DO, instead of talking about doing - which is sometimes what I think girls would rather (but not always).
