Okay, this is a bit trickier to answer than it looks. Now, if you're talking about an adult moth, already flying, then most of those don't cause any problem at all. If, on the other hand, you're talking about a juvenile moth (a larva or caterpillar), then, yeah, there are some that have venomnous spines, or utricating hairs (ones which cause some pretty severe itching), etc.

Gypsy moth caterpillars, e.g., often cause allergy to people who handle them.

Some moth larvae -- the Io moth, e.g., (and butterfly larvae) have spines which can really cause a sting - but many also don't have stuff like that. It depends on the species.

ive never heard of this before, sounds strange.
if you put a moth in water, it will loose that dust and wont be able to fly again.
and i catch them for my frogs all the time, they seem to love them.
