As the years go by, even through some very painful and trying times, I find that there does seem to be a reason for everything that happens and we are all supposed to be here. I believe that every time we give in some small way (I know this sounds corny), even a smile when someone you don't even know really needs that smile, or you help someone with something small, when it's least expected. Giving to others whenever I can and trying to be a decent person every day really helps me to understand that it's up to me to make a difference...and makes me a happier person.
If you have never seen the movie "It's a Wonderful Life", it really sums the answer to your question up beautifully. Take care.

I was thinking about this the other day and the way I interpret the question is the "You" as in mankind. And I think it would be better without us, our technology is destroying the world while we think we are progressing. Even if there was no technology, even if you are the most environmentally conscious person you would still be considered a destructing factor.... you have to drink water right ? Our supplies are running out.....water, energy, fuel....etc. Animals know how to control their population, Humans don't. So there you have it, a trip inside my mind. Who's with me?

No, not better, nor worse. I feel a balance in everything. I am just a circle peg for a sqare hole. I shall find my destiny in this merry go round, taking something and leaveing more, through wisdom and knowledge.
A simple smile can do wonders, and a kind word warms the heart in a cold world.
Love everyone.

It depends on your activities,if you have given some important thing to the world at large ,or you have done something for the betterment of the humanity then definitely the world will be better when you wont be there.

No - we all contribute to the development of the world and the human race - the ecology cannot survive without the balance, though humans do destruct the ecology. But I am not one of them - any how, if you consider the human race, each and every individual - including you are very important for it's well being.

I would not say better just, that it would not make a difference if i was or was not here. The world is not going to stop for anyone and it is foolish to think it will and even more foolish thinking that the world owes you something.

If I had never been born? I don't think it would be like that old Jimmy Stewart movie or anything--no big loss. But if I just suddenly disappeared, it might inconvenience a lot of people.

Yes, although I haven't made any huge contribution to the whole wide world, I know that without me, my husband's and son's worlds would be very different. In fact, my whole family would be different, from my mom to my cousins. I know my world would be different without any of them, especially after knowing them. Without me, I am sure their lives would be different.
