DODA is right. Your mind could cause you to be "hysterically blind". Freud became interested in psycholgy durning a period of time when lots of people were showing up with forms of paralisis where where things like their arms and legs seemed paralized, and yet no one could find a medical explanation. Under hypnosis Freud was able to "suggest" that they actually *could* move these apparently paralized parts....and by golly, they could.
It was this dramatic experiment that proved for the first time that the mind itself could cause.....what appeared to be medical conditions. This phenomon, at the time, was labeled "hysteria".
If a person were to become seemingly blind as a result of depression or some other emotional trama.......most psychologists would view it as a way that the mind was trying to protect the person in some way or another.
However, the blindness would not be medical in nature, and although the person seemed unable to see, it's almost certain that their sight would return unimpared once whatever the precipitating emotional issue was resolved.

This is terrible. You need to talk to the prescribing doctor. Those side effects and withdrawal symptoms are not to be tolerated. There are plenty of other good meds out there, if you even need to be on meds, and I am sure you can find one(s) that work for you without causing such side problems.

I wouldn't think so, unless you get so depressed you poke your eye out.
Some antidepressants will cause vision problems. Talk to your Dr.
