That's a pretty interesting situation, if you've been with someone for that long but you're meeting her mother for the first time.

All I can say is don't try to act any differently then you would around your girlfriend. Be honest about subjects that come up, don't try to be eager to please, you know? I would imagine that your girlfriend really cares about you. Her mom will pick up on that without your help. Just take a deep breath, and cruise through conversation like you would normally.

Because just think: you put on this beautiful act, but then you have to UPHOLD it every time you talk to her mom afterwards.

Just take it easy.

tough. >< but for one...your gf might help by just talking to her mom. When you see a chance to ask a question do it. Her mom can ellaborate or explain to you....or your girlfriend will. Whichever, TRY NOT TO BE NERVOUS. hahaha..mom's can instantly tell. lol. plus if you think on the somewhat positive side...it's only her mom. wait for her dad. =P (remember..she's always gunna be daddy's little girl) GOOD LUCK!*

Anything that you feel comfortable with.............Cute story 4 u.........The first time my hubby met my mom we sat down to dinner and (he is a prankster and I knew he was up to no good) mom asked him how things were going.......He said, "They'd be alright if my probation officer would stay off my back." I about fell off of the chair, and she STILL thinks he is on probation (we've been married 5 years)............LMAOOOOOOOO

Don't talk too much about anything. Listen alot. Avoid the usual hot button topics: war, religion, sex with her daughter.

Tell her how much in love w/ her daughter you are, and how wonderfully she was raised, tell the mom that you know where she got her good looks from... BE NICE VERRY NICE! but dont over do it!

She will be the one asking questions and you'll be the one answering them. There will be plenty of things to talk about.

And good luck!

sex, drugs and alcohal duh haha just playin'...if you ask her questions...that will make her talk. so things like family, what she likes (esp so you know for the future), talk about school (for some reason parents just love to talk about that), near future events (things to do like movies, fair, etc.). places you have been before, your hobbies, your girlfriend. hope this helps! i'm sure it's easier said than done but once you guys find similar ground it will go by real smooth!! :) good luck

Ask her about her relationship with her husband (if she is married). Her backround, where she is from, what your GF was like when she was a child, has she ever traveled anywhere...just talk...but not too much...
