Ever heard of the Crusades? The Spanish Inquisition? The Salem Witch Trials? Christians have committed their fair share of violence.
For God's sake, read the Old Testament. They talk about stoning in there an awful lot, too.
Besides, stoning in the Middle East has far more to do with the culture and government than about Islam itself.

Stoning was a common form of capital punishment in Israel for hundreds of years, just as crucifixion was common in Roman culture around the time of Christ. Both are barbaric compared to methods employed by the United States.

Both the Old Testament and the Koran list homosexuality and adultery as capital offenses. While I would hope that the Muslim faith would employ a more humane form of punishment as befits our modern culture, if you are going to condemn one faith, you have to condemn the other.

I'm not letting you know where I stand on this. I'm simply providing a logical, dispassionate approach to the answer.

Not only this religion.

All religions are bad!

Because of how vague the scriptures, bibles or whatever text they use as their bible, all these so-called religious people interprate the message according to their own subjective beliefs, and this is exactly what happens when that is done.

You get crime done in the name of their Gods.

Sad to see people have not learnt from the past and see how religions has been the cause of many strife and war.

It really hurts to look at that and know that it goes on. I don't think we will ever have world peace where everyone can live together and be accepted. That's okay. Everyone doesn't haven't to be accepted, it can be tolerated and if we don't like we can look the other way.

Sorry that people are answering this question like you are to blame and being ignorant.

I say that any religion that condones killing isn't much of a religion, since life is sacred.
