There is nothing more sad than seeing parents/child going through terminal cancer, cystic fibrosis, or any other of the numerous diseases that can cut an innocent child's life short. How could a caring/loving God create such a brutal life ending scenario for all involved?
The only correct answer for this question is-He wouldn't, so there probably is not a God, or at least one who cares.

Despite our emotional reactions to certain situations, I know that I could not have true pleasure without knowing what pain is. The loss of a child is the LOSS of pleasure. If you had never had the pleasure in the first place, you would know nothing of the pain. It is only because you have the capacity for pleasure that you feel pain.

Despite how emotionally challenging these situations are, God's existence does not depend on how we feel. He either exists or He does not. He never promised us that we would feel nothing but pleasure in this world. In fact, He promises that this world will be challenging.

There are many things to be sad about in this world. Seeing a loved one get hurt is hard. However, our life here is a temporary thing, and a preparation for the world to come.

Eternity is a billion times a billion times a billion years to the billionth power....and even then you have just begun.

How does 1 day or 1 year or even 50 years of pain compare to that much pleasure? It's the same as if I told you that you could feel the most wonderful pleasure for the rest of your life if you only felt one second of pain. In the grand scheme of things, what you have been through will be long forgotten a trillion years from now. But you have the choice as to where to spend those trillion years.

I believe that there is no way that we as humans can understand or even fathom with our brains the reasons that things such as this happen. That is where faith comes in. Faith in God and what He is doing can be very difficult at times like this. Some people may say they have no faith in God, but when they see the miracles of life and appreciate and believe when something good happens why then do they NOT believe when illnesses and the unexplainable happens? Look at it this way: Back in the times before medicine was as advanced as it is today, say like the Civil War era. Soldiers undergoing amputations were given chloroform to "knock them out" b/c that was all that was known at that time. The doctors didn't realize that Chloroform was so dangerous to the human body, but thru trial and error and experiments, medicine advanced to the point of today where anethesia is provided and surgery is much less horrific and painful. Or look at this example: Slavery in America. All those people who were slaves and died as slaves could not forsee
in many cases that black people would ever be free to go and do as they please. But, over time things did change, however the dead slaves did not understand. For all they knew their children and their children's children would also be slaves. And look at this example: There were no cures hundreds or thousands of years ago for many common diseases that today, you just get vaccinated for or you can pop a pill for and you can function normally and have a long life. The people that died of diseases back then wouldn't fathom the thought that now there are cures. Yeah, they died or suffered, but b/c they did, the doctors could study the diseases and develop new procedures and medicines so that people today wouldn't have to suffer. In other words, you are no different than people of hundreds or thousands of years ago when they too cried out for "justice" from God against these terrible things that happen to people. And just like them, in time, in God's time, things will get better, diseases will have cures, there will be answers. You just may not be here on earth when the answers come.

Yes, God did create everything... Take note that God created a perfect world in the Garden of Eden. And He gave man free will which eventually led to man falling into sin.

And that is the answer to your question. It is Sin that corrupted our world and turned it into a place where there are sorrows and pains, a place of sickness and deaths...

But God do not mean to harm us and let us wallow in pain forever. He created a perfect place for us where we could be with Him. A place where there would be no more tears and no more sickness. A place where there would be no separations and deaths. A place where we could be with the people we love.

The world we live in today is not our home. We would eventually go home to our God in our death.

Brutal life-endings and heart-wrenching deaths are there because we live in a sinful and corrupted world. But God turns these things into something special crafted into His perfect plans.

I know it IS hard to just let go when an innocent child dies, especially if the child is yours, and it is more difficult to endure seeing your child suffer a great deal from a painful sickness with no cure. And it is easy to lose hope and just wallow in self-pity.

But God is good. He would turn your mourning into dancing. You just have to hold on and have faith.

God Bless.

God is love. Pure, unconditional love. He did not create 'terminal childhood illnesses', they are the result of sin. Which was introduced by man when Adam fell from grace.

Someone who has a child with a sever illness and really loves God can see that He's not tormenting that child or punishing them. No, God can use what may look awful to us and use it towards are ultimate good. God's understanding of things is far more advanced then ours. It's incomprehensible. We just need to trust in Him, after all this life on earth is only a cup of water compared to eternity's ocean.

My son was tested for cystic fibrosis, and I couldn't believe that such a terrible disease existed. I'm at Children's Hospital a lot with my kids, and suffering children is the most terrible thing. But you must remember, that children who die will go to heaven. Suffering is the result of sin, and it was not God's original design for the world. It sounds almost heartless to say that the Lord gives and takes away, but He does. Ultimately, our children are God's, so don't burden yourself with guilt. In heaven, God will wipe away every tear and painful memory. This might be difficult to imagine at this moment, but Romans 8:18 is a good verse: "For I reckon that the sufferings fo this present time are not worhty to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us"

I can't believe that anyone would think like that!I believe that God has a plan for everyone's life, and sometimes you have to go through something to come away from it and be able to share your story with others. Why are you just concerned with small children?Have you ever thought about the millions of people who are homeless, dying from HIV/AIDS,and common diseases that people die from everyday because they don't have insurance to get the medication they need? You can never blame God because everything happens the way He says it is suppose to.Yes,I know it hurts to see innocent children suffer, but I've always found comfort in thinking about how they are going to leave all of this pain behind, and be with God in Heaven.God loves us so much and I know that He doesn't find pleasure in watching His children suffer. You just have to believe.

My daughter stopped breathing on Dec. 30, 2005. Luckily, she was resuscitated, but spent the next 3 months in a hospital 90 minutes from my home. My wife, myself, and two daughters were separated from each other most of that time, and the sadness and despair we faced daily was often unbearable.

But... I found that during my darkest times, God was there. I do not believe God gave my daughter a breathing disorder. I do believe that He was with me, giving me comfort when I felt sadness, peace and strength when I was overwhelmed.

I think you are right: the only correct answer is He wouldn't. God does not give children cancer. But I believe He is there with us through the difficult times and good times.

My daughter is home now, and life is not easy. But my family is strong, and through it all, I do not feel anger toward God; I feel gratitude. Peace.

God did not create mankind to die. Adam gave us that by sinning.

Gods purpose for the earth is to restore it the original condition with no sickness or death.

He does care.

At the moment Satan is in control of the earth.

Satan challenged God that no man would serve God because he wanted to.

God has allowed time for that challenge to be answered.

Armageddon is the time when Satan and his followers will be dealt with.

Earth will be restored and there will be no more death.

God did not create illness or evil,. However he allows evil to occur. That is part of free will.

Illnesses are the result of humans not eating right, not living right, not taking care of their bodies...for example cancer are cell mutations. These cells mutate after years ( hundreds) of hurting them via cigarettes, toxic, physical abused, eventually the cells think they have to repair and a tumor is created...

God created all good and man's ego destroyed the purity of the creation.

God did not create disease, disease is a by product of our SIN. If sin never entered the world we would not have all the problems that we do. The levitical laws were made to PROTECT US not harm us but man disobeyed and in doing so reaped what they sowed.
