Can you convince me once and for all?

Dear WQ: Faith is not what you desire! You want Certainty:

Faith is what we have when we think we "believe" something, but have no way to know for certain. We "hang tough" on behalf of Faith, but sometimes we get discouraged because nothing we hope for or ask for seems to occur.

I call Faith a step attached to belief. So the steps are: (1) I believe this is so. (2) I have Faith that it is so. (3) I am Certain and I Know this is so. We deserve better than Faith. We deserve to know and be Certain.

Years ago, I was driving to work in the morning and having deep thoughts. I said to myself, "Why does everything have to be a secret? Why can't I know why we are here, what this whole thing is about. Wouldn't it be better for all of us to know?"

Not too long after that, I found myself guided to a book called "A Course in Miracles." It was non-denominational. I found out that God, thru the Holy Spirit and His Son, Jesus had every intention of wanting us to know the answers. The mysteries were NOT God's Will - mankind had produced them - shrouding God in mystery. Perhaps, because of a type of Fear of God.

Let go of irrational faith and grab hold of Certainty. The "Course" even explains why we might pray, but not receive. It answers so many things.

Also, traditional religion is based on Faith and "puts its nose up in the air" about being dependent on experiences. I knew about that. But who wants to live in faith all your life and never know anything for certain? "A Course in Miracles" brings some experiences that allow you to Know. Nothing occult. Everything is perfectly up and up. This Book is guided by Jesus, Himself.

If you turn away from the Father - you turn away from your Self. Then you lose your identity. You are part of Him. You must understand your relationship to Him. Knowing - gives you everything you have wanted.

Take it easy, go slowly and the last remnants of irrational faith will simply fade away like a snowball in a desert.

See the link below. Hey, it's tough to get over a lifetime of religious indoctrination. Think about this. The average ancient Egyptian, Greek, Norseman, Roman, and Sumerian was just as devout following their religion as the average Christian, Muslim, Buddhist is today. When is the last time you heard anyone praying to Amun Ra? I rest my case.

Go in peace, into the unknown.

Are you trying to lose your faith?

God will not force you to stay. We are not little puppets that He controls.
You are free to go.
But just keep in mind the words from the book of Hebrews. Once you have tasted the joy of eternal life and then fall from grace, there is no way for you to return to grace because that would mean you would have to crucify Jesus Christ all over again and put Him to shame once more.

The only irrational faith is that which is not placed on the Lord God Almighty.

Have a nice day :-)

You just asked a question that completely voids this one. Pick one side of the fence and stay on it. You can't play both sides, kid. What is your real question?
