with their heads covered with headdresses, hats, or what ever you want to call them when at 1 Corinthians 11: 4 and 7 it says; Every man that prays or prophesies having something on his head shames his head. For a man ought not to have his head covered, as he is God's image and glory. By wearing their head coverings and hats when they lead the congregation in prayer and pray alone are they not shaming their heads and disobeying God by doing so? This even goes for the pope does it not, he's not above God is he?

This is not true. We don't need a middle man to pray for us. God loves as much as the Pope, You can pray to him direct, all men are sinners, even the Pope and anyone else. Pray to him to forgive your sins and he will, you don' need a priests or anyone else. To say a man doesn't sin is to call the Lord a lier

Been to a Catholic Mass celebrated by a bishop?

Based on what you wrote, it doesn't seem like you have.

Whenever there's a prayer to be said, the bishop removes his mitre. He doesn't wear it during prayers in Mass.

He'll only wear it during those portions of Mass where the people, not God, are specifically addressed.

I've never been to a Mass celebrated by the Pope -- but according to the sacrament of Holy Orders, he is a bishop.

Thus, he presumably does the same thing with his mitre that all other bishops do -- he takes it off when he's leading the people in prayer, but may (or may not) wear it when he's speaking right to the people.

It is a tradition, what does the scripture say about tradition?
Mark 7:13
Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
What Mark tells us is that when we use tradition to pray God's word has no effect. In other words we are praying a miss, and God will not honor it!
Galatians 4:3
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world
We should never allow ourselves regardless of our status to be in bondage to tradition or the elements of the world.
Even Jesus ask this question:
Matthew 15:3
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
Matthew 15:1-9
1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, 2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
You are absolutely correct it goes for all because no one is above God neither in the heavens nor in the earth. It's simply a question of whether or now we wish to follow God or the tradition of man. We take away the effectiveness of God's word when we worship him in vain!

in sikhism, everyone must cover their heads as sign of respect because it is said that an exposed head is the sign of divinity and one must cover one's head in order to worship god.
