All the great religions and philosophies of the world teach its followers to treat others like they would want to be treated.

Are Christians kinder than others? I don't think so. I do believe that if a person follows the true teachings of Christ, and surrenders to God's Will, then he/she will find peace. (of course, if someone follows the true teachings of Buddhism, Judaism, etc., peace will come also)

And a person at peace with himself/herself and the world will find goodness in everything, and will likely be good to all.

No not a monopoly, but you can monopolise on goodness, by knowing what is to be done and what isn't to be done. There are three modes of material nature, Goodness, Passion & Ignorance, Goodness leads to an understanding of transcendental subjectivity, the mode of Passion leads to success in the business world & the mode of Ignorance leads to an existence no better then an animals.

The two previous and ignorant answers refer to Catholisism, the largest cult in the world. Christianity is much different. The Bible (The only real authority, not the Pope, molesting priests or anyone else) states: There is none righteous, no, not one. That's why we ALL, including you, need Jesus. He said, I am THE WAY the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.

No of course not, the problem with all religions is in the interpretation of them by us. The concepts are good rules to live by eg. the Ten Commandments, rules are often corrupted to pursue selfish ends.
