A couple of days ago my boyfriend was having touble with a password on a website using my laptop. As I fixed the password, I closed the window and noticed websites that I had been to in the last couple of days he had went through the history and went to every website. Of course I confronted him about what he did and why he did it. Of course he denied doing it defensively. Yesterday I changed all passwords as he had tried to log on while I was out today as he always does when I'm away.Today he confronted me about me changing my passwords. He also asked what I had to hide by doing so. I offered to give him his own sign on but he didn't seem interested. I don't like everyone in the family using my laptop b/c I do all my colleg e work on here, I ask alot of questions on yahoo answers I'd rather he not know about , although if he were computer literate he could log on like everyone else and read what I write. I have nothng to hide but I want my privacy!

You are indeed correct.

However If I'm you, I will give up boy friend and keep the laptop.

If you can't do it, at least tell your boyfriend that you are going to choose one of them if he cannot respect your rights and privacy.

I'm sorry my dear. You better change your narrow-minded boy friend.

Relationships are work. Who's right or wrong is the wrong focus. Loving and valuing someone enough to go through the trouble it takes to work things out with them is the only focus for relationships. But! If he is controlling and possessive and that's why he wants into your business he may not be worth the trouble. If, on the other hand, he's curious or insecure or just testing the intimacy water level in your relationship . . . words like "hide" and "privacy" sound like walls to me, not just boundaries.

Ur right of course!!! why is he tryna share ur email addr and why is he double checking what sites u went to.. he ain't that computer iliterate.. he's very literate if he was able to find the history.. u should have been deleting ur cookies though if other people r gonna b on ur laptop..

he needs to get his own user name and stop tryna see what u doing, it ain't got nothing to do w/hiding anything but everyone needs their privacy...

yea..i'm gunna have to back you up on that. ^^ sure you are boyfriend-girlfriend, but you do have a life of your own too. You need your privacy for things, even if it wouldn't make a difference if he knew or not. Just some things u'd rather not share...it's not a secret hiding from him, and if you truly aren't hiding anything then, he should back up and give you privacy. Cuz..I'm sure he wouldn't like it if he was in your situation. good luck tho =]

You have the right to your privacy. Make him a log on anyway and change to it when you leave. Tell him its none of his business what you do on YOUR computer and he has no right to invade your privacy, that its like him reading your diary. But make sure you reassure him that he has nothing to worry about...your just doing school work and that your not seeing anyone.

If he starts asking if your cheating then it means he is doing the cheating on you. I hope it doesnt come to that.

good luck.

You have every right to want your privacy....there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. He should respect you enough to trust that your not doing anything inappropriate online. If you don't trust each other your relationship will be clouded by doubt and suspicion...that is no way to live.

You have a right to your privacy. If he wants to get on yahoo (or other sites) then he is free to sign up for free. You are under no obligation to provide him your password.

Maybe you should explain that to your boyfriend. Then he won't think that you have anything to hide.
