Wow ... where do I start???

First, not all SUV owners are Christians.

Second, not all Christians are SUV owners. I'm certainly not.

Third, why are you singling out Christians for the supposed "contribution to the pollution problem"?

You obviously haven't travelled much -- if you have, you'd know that so many non-Christian countries have far worse pollution problems than the "Christian" USA does.

There's also plenty of evidence to show us that Communist regimes -- officially atheist -- have absolutely horrible environmental records.

Think Chernobyl, and think Red China -- it's rampant with pollution.

Whether your question was the product of innocent ignorance or deliberate Christian-bashing, I can't say.

What I can say is that it's utterly baseless.

It's not only Christians that drive SUVs there are atheist, Jews, Muslims, etc that drive SUVs too. I just don't like how you have singled out Christians in a stereotypical manner like that.

I don't see what your point is...why does ANYONE insists on driving a gas-guzzler in the city? I can understand driving one in the country or mountains where you need more power or have a real NEED for 'utility' (the "U" in SUV)...otherwise there a luxury we can't afford! Not in terms of burning the gas, let alone in making the gas to begin with!

What about all the jets flying over.

Do we really need all the air traffic.

SUVS are a very small portion of the problem.

WWJD?

Not spend ridiculous amounts of money on a vehicle nor contribute to the destruction of the planet. But let's worry about whether he would go to prom or not - not whether he would do anything else that I do in my life.

they think they cant possibly be part of the problem. they think it is the non christians who are the problem. so they build their huge homes, drive their huge cars, buy clothes made in sweatshops... and go to church and pray for their sins that really dont matter at all. what matters is that they paid $100 on their new shoes while children are going hungry.

Good question. One Christian environmental group did a campaign last year called, "What Would Jesus Drive?" I don't think he'd be selfish or ostentatious enough to drive a Hummer.
