First off, my heart goes out to you. I truly feel for you. I commend you for what you have done for her.

I have bipolar disorder and I know I can be difficult at times. It's hard because there are times when I'm not well and I hate everybody. I don't really hate everybody, but I don't know why I feel that way. I know it's the chemical imbalance, and not truly me. It's quite a difficult thing to explain.

You have done NOTHING wrong. From what you've said you treated her well, and you obviously love her. I don't know your current situation with her, but if you can, try talking to her or someone close to her. They may have an idea of what's going on and maybe she's getting sick. With most mental illnesses, withdrawing socially is a huge sign that a person is getting ill.
As well, does she have a psychiatrist? If not, she should be in the care of one, and she should consider therapy.

What you need to know is that no matter what happens, you NEED to take care of yourself. You need to be healthy, and you need to be well. Make sure to do things for yourself, and no matter how you feel, treat yourself with love.

I wish you all the best. Just stay strong.

I'm sorry your girlfriend broke up with you. I don't think you did anything wrong. I can only guess what she is thinking since I don't know her, but relationships end for lots of reasons. Try not to get too upset about it because we have all been through a breakup at least once, if not dozens of times. Be thankful for the good times you had with her, wish her well in your heart, and take good care of yourself so that when you meet someone special again you'll be ready.

Don't get all caught up in that "soulmate" thing either. It's way overrated. And besides, if she really was your soulmate, you'd still be together, right?

So be encouraged, because your soulmate is out there looking for you too!

My father is schizo Affective and my brother is a paranoid schizo....
My real father has always been difficult to live with more the 48 hours. He controls the conversations, he gets pissed if you want to make a point, he thinks buying people things makes up for the way he thinks and treats people.
Please do not take this the wrong way.....My mother also suffered from "mental illness" and if she would have stayed with him she probably would have not made it through life.
It is difficult for a person with emotional intelligence to understand another person with the same gift because there is a lack of good teachers for us to learn how to use this gift in a good way.........

Well I am not so sure that dumping you has any thing to do with the fact that she has a mental health disability. If that is the case then really there is nothing you did and nothing you can do. If it is not the case then as you know sometimes people just dont belong with one another even when in our hearts its what we really want. Give her time and space to let her work through her feelings, and in turn you will have time to heal.

Maybe she doesn't hate you, maybe she hates herself. Relationships are difficult for everybody. If both people have a mental illness that makes a successful relationship four times as difficult. Each person is dealing with their own disability as well as dealing with the disability of the the other then on top of that you are dealing with the highs and lows that naturally come with a relationship. Both of you really need experience, maturity and a total understanding of of your disabilitites. Understand your emotional patterns, your highs, your lows, what sets you off ect. and if you have meds and don't take them then shame on you. Understand the consequences of your behavior and personality if you are off them. Stop playing the victim and blaming yourself. Insead of asking what's wrong with me, take a look a t her and ask "what's wrong with her?" It may be a blessing in disguise that she's gone or it may be a time for both of you to re-evaluate yourselves. Good Luck!

Need some more info on this. Did something happen between the two of you? Is her illness being properly treated and is it under control? Schizoaffective Disorder has a wide range of symptoms. Have you noticed any recent changes in her behavior?
