Hi everyone! Well, before I ask this rather dumb and strange question, I'll just tell you that I'm 13, so please don't flame or tell me off! Ok, here it goes..

A while back (Almost a year) I started thinking about death a lot. I love action and war movies, and after watching them a lot, it starts to get you sort of depressed. Anyways, I managed to work my way out of that type of thinking sometime after. I remember watching CNN on the 6th of June, and they takled about stuff like the Normandy Invasions, etc..etc. And then, and interview on the O'Reilly Factor came on, and these two authors discussed what was known as the 'End Times' (Apocalypse) and how the world is supposed to end soon. This plopped me right back into that depression again. So, I'm wondering, what are your thoughts on this? Do you believe it? I've only heard authors discuss it, and not any religeous people. (Priests, etc..etc) If God created life, why would he abruptly end it?

Thanks for any replies!

Hey, JC, good question for a youngster. The End of Times stems from the Bible, the book of John. Folks have been trying to decipher his writings for thousands of years. Opinions vary, they vary so much that it has become a joke. John was obviously hallucinating. Don't worry about the end of the world. This old planet has been around for billions of years and no amount of silly prattling by some guy that's been dead for two thousand years will change that. Religious wackos, every now and then will go to the mountain top convinced that the world will end. A good example of this was the millennium year 2000. Came and went no end. Cheer up, it only makes for interesting talk on TV, nothing more. Have fun in life, keep our mind and options open.

Good Luck

I personally find the end-times rather fascinating and entertaining as a concept, though it will most likely be scary in reality. Hopefully, I will have been raptured before any of the really bad stuff happens. For a good description of what will happen, read the revelation of john. It is one of my favourite books of the bible.

As for why it will happen, we gotta go back to the beginning. The world was created and it was perfect. Man sinned and the world became cursed. God set in motion a plan to save as many people as possible, which included haveing Jesus die to save us. The final part of the plan is to destroy everything and remake it so all of creation is once again perfect.

If you really are 13, then you are already much more sophisticated than many, many people on YA.

As for your question. Christians have been waiting for the second coming of Jesus for about 2000 years. Jesus himself said he'd come again in the lifetime of the people living then... it's in Mark 13:30.

Why does the IDEA of the end of time appeal to them? Because it makes them happy, at least deep down, that everyone will know that they were right and the ones who disagreed with them will be burning in hell and/or eternally punished.

Hi JC. Don't listen to Paul S (on here) - his rantings are IDIOTIC. You are very well spoken and intelligent, obviously. God bless you for wanting to know. I see a lot of good answers on here (bible based) so I won't repeat them. But I encourage you to read I and II Thessalonians and the Book of the Revelation. King James Version only please, the others are counterfeit "bibles." Before you start reading, ask God to show you what He wants you to see. You won't understand everything all at once; there is still much I don't understand - it's that deep. God will show you what YOU need to see right now, and He will continue to "open" the scriptures to you as you continue to seek Him. Ask Him any question at all - He loves answering those who hunger and thirst to know His righteousness (what is right as God knows it). God bless you on your journey!

It will be awhile before "The End times" comes. The stuff that's happening now is compare to a bee sting nothing to get anxious over but only prayerful. You are sure smart for your age. God bless you.

Ive always thought that God ends the world when he doesnt like how things r evolving..like how ppl have come to be. when evil has taken over the good of the world, he starts over or sumthin.

There is no "End Times." If it was on the O'Reilly Factor than it was probably a lie meant to deceive people.

the "end of the world" won't be a literal end, but a restoration of God's order and power on earth> Everyone who believed in Jesus, will live happy for eternity> while those who didn't accept Jesus as savior will be damned to hell for their choice. If someone doesn't love jesus, god isn't going to FORCE them into heaven, but instead they will go to hell. peace.
