No, no, no! Not just the "woman" (let's face it, they're mostly girls), but also the father.

Yes but you know that's not going to happen. Men are always wanting sex and women sometimes can't say no and it always seems like the ones who can't SAY no always have the least amounts of money to care for them.
But you know. Life must go on. We are supposed to reproduce so some feel if they want children there will never be a right time. If you wait for your career you may be too old. Then what???
See what your body looks like after you have a bunch of kids. Don't be so mean. Women have it hard enough. Also you said WOMEN??? What about the MEN?
Men should wear a rubber or get the SNIP SNIP so they won't get the women pregnant. Women should insist upon them using protection but sometimes they just don't
We pay for lots of programs that aide people and indirectly we are helping ourselves as well. Everything is connected. Maybe somehow the lack of funding could affect or not affect us. who knows

My husband lost his job making $60,000/yr when our youngest was two months old so I took a part-time job that paid $7/hr in a grocery store just to have some money coming in. I was able to get WIC, but was denied Food Stamps because I made too much money for the amount of people in our home! Then when he found another job making $50,000/yr, we lost WIC.
You need to understand that sometimes circumstances change beyond people's control and that these programs are there to help these people short-term. Unfortunately, there are those out there that have learned how to abuse the system and are living off of it indefinitely. These are the people that are giving the system a bad reputation. You really shouldn't judge people based upon your own prejudices. Try taking their possible situations into consideration.

I agree that they are to many young girls having babies and needing our help to take care of them.
But let's face it...raising children cost money..and let's be honest...I don't know many ppl that can afford children...you just have them and you do the best you can. Things change. My husband changed jobs when I found out I was preg. w/ our first child and he had to take a major pay cut. If it wasn't for WIC, I don't know what I would have done..and for the record we BOTH worked, but it still was hard. I don't see a problem w/ ppl that are trying to work and trying to make it on their own, helping out some, HOWEVER, I do agree that these women who keep having kids and can't afford them , should find another hobby.
and the fat/ugly comment...not nice........I have seen many pretty skinny ones whipping out the WIC and Food Stamps also.

Why are you so torn up about this? Why did you fail to mention the low-life's that are on welfare, that can go out and spend their check to buy dope and alcohol, but then go gett assistance to ge their water and power bill payed? I work law enforcement and see this EVERY night, i would much rather have my tax dollars go to help some family feed their child rather than to go for some drunk to buy booze! Wake up and realize before you bust someone out for somethings they cant control...You may be in a situation like brother about 2 years ago were he lost EVERYTHING in a house fire with a 5 week old son to raise. They were never on WIC because of the family willing to support them until they could get back up, but some people absolutely need help. I pray that you or your family is never in need and you can just live the "perfect life". If my family is ever in need you can bet your *** I'm gonna do what i have to and I'd like to see a moron like you try stop that.

Well for one, at least give these women credit for keeping their children instead of aborting them. For another, you have no clue what their backgrounds could be, i.e. if the father left, died, if they lost a job, whatever. On top of that, most women that need government aid did not plan their pregnancy, but they need a little help making ends meet.
As far as it being your money being used for that...if it wasn't to help raise children, your money would still be taken from the government to be used for something else, so instead of being bitter maybe you should be happy to help those less fortunate than you. Be grateful to not be in their situation, and pray that if you ever were, that you would get the help you needed as well.

i get WIC ******!
its a big help and we pay taxes to get the help! so why not take the help if you can get it?!
and you dont even understand how expensive baby food is..its VERY VERY expensive..babies have to eat..and WIC is a major help!
..and plus wic just provides milk, cereal, eggs, cheese, baby cereal, formula, juice, and either peanut butter or beans.
it just helps with the monthly expenses of having a child! a growing 1 yr old!

I agree. My whole pay goes to daycare, I'm not complaining though. In order to justify the wic and all the other nonsense, I try to think about how many "baby daddies" have flown the coop on these girls and they have no choice. Unfortunately, as taxpayers, neither do we.

just because someone doesnt have alot of money does not mean that the kids that they bring into the world are not loved, or taught right from wrong, or to do something great with thier lives. you dont sit own and say hey, we or i in some cases have enough money to have a kid. we have kids because we want them.. (if that was the choice) f it was about money before you had kids, most people would never have them! yes, goverment help is handy to have, espcially when your in a tough situation. the girl up top summed it up when she said you should feel good to help those less fourtunate.
