my car has an inrernal antenna. the radio station reception is not that good. it only picks up some stations.when i switch antennas to
an ols radio control antenna it picks up many more stations and louder. what could be the problem. is there an antenna fuse or something

Simply put, the internal antennas have never been anywhere near as sensitive as an outside antenna. If you dont want to install an antenna you might try an antenna amplifier, they can be purchased for 15 bucks but I have noticed the dont even work as well as an outside unit.

You need to replace the antenna for best result to solve the problem an amplifier is only going to amplify the problem which is bad reception it won't be loud or clear enough to make you happy.
