From the ground it looks like it's flying backward? Help. Just saw one and I can't remember the name!

It is called a canard. The Long EZ is one of several made. The Beechcraft Starship was also a canard. Canards have flying characteristics that are desirable over other designs. For one thing, they recover automatically from stalls because the horizontal stabilizier (the wing in the front) stalls first, thus the nose lowers, and the stall is broken before the main wing stalls.
