don't run.

or, find a good running coach to have your stride evaluated and get fitted for proper shoes.

it is true that if you do some mild non impact exercising and stretching such as yoga or pilates that you will strengthen your weak ankles.. However, sometimes we have tissue damage in our knees that we cannot detect with out x-ray.. I suggest talking to the doctor first to make sure you don't have any tissue damage before doing any more high impact running..

Running is high impact and bad for your joints. it can actually damage them and cause arthritis. I would suggest that you see a doctor for them (there really is no such thing as true weak knees) to be evaluated for shin splints and other problems, and then take up walking instead, as it will save you pain and burns almost as many calories. :)
