Now that I have a son who's 20 years old, I notice he can see at lower light levels than I can. Maybe that's why my mother always said, "Turn on a light! You'll ruin your eyes!" I don't think doing things in low-level light affects your eyes at all; I think you just need more light to see by as you get older.

Watching tv, reading and doing other things in the dark will strain your eyes which will cause you to have problems later. I used to watch tv in the dark all the time. I now cannot see to drive at night without glasses. I suggest that you have a light on when doing things like this that will strain your eyes.

if you read in dim light on a daily basis, it will def impair your eyesight
