You are paying for support. Redhat fedora is free but you wont get any help. Pay for it and they will advise you.

A small question...are you making plans to alter to an enterprise linux or is it for a pc? whether this is for enterprise you need to use crimson Hat Linux enterprise version 5(RHEL 5). in case you do no longer decide for help then they value $eighty for the receive (yet recommendations you the source is open), with help it costs you around $700. if your enterprise needs Linux yet do no longer decide for to spend a dime then you fairly can try CentOS (that's ordinarily a similar to RHEL minus the crimson Hat trademarks and is legal, yet won't get any help). For a pc, i decide for to advise Fedora (an area distro subsidized via crimson Hat), Ubuntu, Gentoo etc Linux is often an invaluable option to homestead windows in many things. there are various stats and people who help GNU/Linux as a extra clever OS any day. Use a seek engine with queries like "Linux benefit homestead windows" and notice it your self. playstation : look on the fees your self if involved in RHEL ( i gave tough figures)

They want to make money off of it. Most of what they are selling is a support contract. If you want Red Hat for free, look at Fedora or CentOS.
