The train system in Italy is actually pretty good. Go to
http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html
You can order your tickets online or buy them at the train stations. We got our tickets online before we left (for a specific date and time).
We were just there in May. We took the train from Venice to Rome.

Very simple. If you're at the airport in Pisa there is a ticket booth for trains to Florence and its a 2 minute walk through the airport to the platform. This train stops in Pisa and another couple of towns before you reach Santa Maria Novella in Florence. The trains are very frequent. Alternatively if you're in Pisa you can jump on baord there. Very easy and cheap.

Florence is a good town to spend your holyday; see more with hotelbye . Florence's museums, palaces, and churches house a few of the best artistic treasures in the world. Typically the most popular and essential museum in Florence are: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Uffizi, the Bargello and the Accademia. Churches like: Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce are veritable artwork galleries. In Florence you can also start to see the vast and different art series housed in the Pitti Palace. The Palazzo Pitti (The Pitti Palace) is just a big 15th century palace found on the quieter south bank of the Arno River. The palace was number of years the house of Florence's rulers till 1919, when it absolutely was handed to the Italian state, which altered the palace in to a museum complex. Regardless of their metamorphosis, from noble residence to a state-owned public developing, the palace still maintains the air and atmosphere of a personal variety in a grand house.

Get on the train at Pisa Centrale and head for Firenze Santa Maria Novella. Its easy, pretty quick, and pretty cheap. There is a small extension that can take you directly to Pisa's international airport too if thats where youre coming from.

There are plenty of direct trains, or you may have to change trains in a town called Empoli. It's a short, easy, and very picturesque journey! Check www.trenitalia.com for train schedules.
