Unless you want to go to Hell. The Catholic Church forbid you to use birth control. Not even a condom.

Yes, I am Catholic too and I am on the pill because I would have my period twice a month instead of once a month and these would be full blown periods. I also had severe PMS and PMDD, my periods were Hell. Take a glass of water and pour into your hand, while doing that have someone maybe three or four people if possible pushing down on your hips, then get a saw and saw a block of wood, that is what it felt like every time that I was on my period, and this went on for seven years. I was nearing suiside because of this. Thank God for birth control pills or I would have killed myself. If you are taking the pills for this case, nothing will happen to you, you will be forgiven, but beware, most of my family members after getting off the pill could not get pregnant or when they got off the pill got pregnant within 30 days of being off of it and got pregnant with twins. I have talked to doctors about this and they say that it is very common.

No, it's not ok with the church simply because Sex should stay inside the marriage only and then both you and your spouse should be open to pregnancy every time you make love. That is what the church teaches. God made women to cycle and there is only a certain time when you can become pregnant in a month. Check into planned parenting or natural family planning, they will tell you when you are most fertile and when you should restrain from sex if you don't want a baby. Otherwise if you are not married: Abstinence is Best. That way you don't have to feel guilty for sinning and you will be doing everything in God's plan.

Yes, it's ok. The Catholic church does not believe in birth control because they want as many people as possible to be born so they can grow up and support the church. Unless the Catholic church can support the children they have no right to dictate birth control to anyone. It is not a religious issue, it is a money issue.

If you are thinking of getting birth control pills for the sole purpose of preventing pregnancy, then that is against the teachings of the Church. If you read "Theology of the Body" by Pope John Paul II, it clearly states that the Sacrament of Marriage is to form a loving union between husband and wife and be open to being a part of the creative process of new life in God.

Yes, it is ok for you to take birth control pills. Some churches disagree with this. However, you will never agree with everyone. If you feel comfortable taking it- take it. If you feel that it is wrong- do not. No one can make that decision for you. Whether or not you take it will not affect that you are a Catholic.

No not really. I mean it's not specifically a sin. But the church asks when you marry that you be "open to children". If you need to not have children for a time(or forever because of health or other reasons) then the Natural Family Planning (the real NFP not somebodies impression of it) is a very accurate way to go. It is a very loving way to live and should strengthen your marriage through it's practice.
Don't be mislead by those who know nothing about it. I have used it for natural child spacing and my kids are 3 years apart!
Let me clear up what someone up there said. The pill causes a hostile envirnment in your womb so that you can concieve a baby but it cannot survive because your womb won't accept it that's what they were referring to up there when they said it "causes an abortion".

Birth control pills are far better than getting pregnant. The Catholic's "rhythm" method (their version of birth control) doesn't work very well.

Yes. Birth control is used for a number of things, not just to prevent pregnancy. I know many catholics who use birth control pills. Just don't use it as an excuse to have sex with every Tom, **** and Harry you meet.

From what I understand the only birth control accepted by the church is natural family planning, which is basically temperature and mucus charting to calculate your fertile days. The Pill is frowned upon, as are other methods.

Yes.
Well, okay, according to the catholic church it's actually a sin; all forms of birth control are a sin.
But i would strongly recommend against taking the catholic church's advice when it comes to matters of sex and reproduction. Use protection - lots of it.
