Are being serious? I don't love illegal immigration, but I sympathize with people that are desperate to seek a better life for themselves and their families. Unless you are part of the middle class, it's nearly impossible to support a family. Working class people make about an average of $10-$20 a day. Living conditions are horrible. The government is totally corrupt and doesn't really give a $hit about its people. When people do try to stand up to the government then you get what happened in Tlatelolco in 68, which wasnt pretty.

I think your view of that country relies too heavily on national coverage of the immigration rallies staged all over the nation not too long ago.
yes there are quite a few people who want to come to the USA, but it's mostly because there's so much opperatunity here then where they came from. This does not mean all of Mexico can't hold a light to the kind of personal advancement the US can offer- Mexico is HUGE and incredibly diverse.
The coastal regions draw massive crowds of tourists, and many cities not only profit from land tourism but make a killing on tourism by sea (ie cruises, beach getaways, intense fishing sports, etc.).
It all depends on where you go. Unfortunatly much of Mexico is still rural compared to the US, and that means much of those individuals have no hope of progressing into the kind of lifestyle living in a metropolis affords. So the only logical thing to do is move if that's what you're after.
Many move to the big cities within the country for this reason, and many try to make the move across the border, but this does not mean no one wants to livethere.
If noone wanted to live there thenthe population would be mostly condensed at it's borders- trying to get the heck out.
Notice that most of the people in Mexico are mexicans?
It's not that it's a place noone wants to live at, it's just a matter of how you preceive a place, how well you can understand human nature, and how much you really know about the subject you're talking about.

You know, that is a very good question and I have asked that of several hispanic acquaintances I have. They think it's uncool to allow illegals here and even though they were born here and their families came here legally several generations ago, it makes a thinking person wonder why Mexico can't be fabulous. Mainly, the politics are unbearable for the poor. No services exist for them and unless the peones create a change in the Mexican government, the status quo will remain. There have been revolts before, but it's easier for the "dames" to come here and stick out their hands and bellies, demanding to be taken care of. The Vietnamese didn't do this, so why the welfare-oriented illegals are even allowed to stay one minute here is totally beyond any logic I can muster. Maybe we can invade Mexico, make a territory, tax it heavily and then everyone will be happy! Claro? Que si!

Mexico over-all is a large dry, hard country usually in one political transition or another. Everybody promises a chicken in every pot but fails to deliver so the next guy gets to promise the same thing again.
This vicous cycle has repeated itself over and over since a few greedy men realized the true value of a buck.(or, in their case a thousand peso's) and how to squeeze the last ounce out of simple minds and the strength out of strong backs.
And nothings changed
Farming and ranching are hard and dry, arid land is costly to enrich and irrigate.
The profitable ones are extremely large, and generation, family owned.
Most for well over a hundred years. Many over two.
To keep their lands profitable, labor with little else to do, is very poorly paid.
It's funny you should mention tourist attractions. Who are the last people you know that spent their vaction touring Mexico?
That's a joke. Didn't you hear? Don't drink the water. Ha,ha,...
Oh,no doubt about it, they have a few great attractions, like Mexico City, for instance. Largest city in the world. Did you know that?
Ever been there? Know anybody that has?
Great on the water, vacation spots though, like Cancun,
thats so far from anything Mexican the only way to get there practically, is to fly. Or there's Accupolco. Now there's a great beach and hotel area that actually employs Mexicans. Just as long as they can speak, at least some, English.
They get to change your sheets everyday and clean up after you. Maybe, if their lucky, they'll get to serve you drinks, even on the beach, or bring you your dinner where ever you want to eat it.
Great jobs.Tips and all. Anybody you know want their kids to do that for the rest of their lives.? To work like a dog for tips .
Right up until they're to old to fit the pofile their employer wants in his help. You know, employees that customers like to look at, maybe date for a night. Hey, it's all about the money, right?.
Opportunites for the average Mexican family is far and few.
Education in rural area's generally isn't incouraged.
Leaving a good deal of the populace ignorant doe's just that,
it leaves them ignorant.
Frustrated and dirt poor they risk everthing including their lives to get to a country they hear, if you work hard, you get to eat regular and even buy your wife and children something nice.
Truly a land of opportunity.
It appears only the very old remember that about America anymore.

Not only was this the clearest case of a national-level prosecution involving World Bank-related corruption, it was one of the first instances of an impoverished developing country prosecuting a major multinational company for bribing one of its own officials, U.S. FAVORS CORRUPTION --------ONCE ALL GOOD IDEAS ARE TAKING UP!

the very people who are leaving is what made it a place to leave. they are for the most part thieves, they counterfeit our documents like other criminals, what makes them any less criminal? what if you printed your own money, would that be OK? I don't think so, they are criminals. blaming their country for making them criminals. and blaming us for not wanting criminals in our country, like we don't already have enuf.
