I don't think this is too familiar in the USA and other places but in Canada it is popular. A common brand is Canadian Club Rye Whiskey. It can be served on the rocks, straight up or mixed with water, coke, or ginger ale, seven up.

I love Rye Whiskey but I'm Canadian. Canadian Club was the first Rye I ever tasted but Wiser's is just as good. The reason why it's basically only in Canada is because it's the same kind of alcohol but called different things in different countries.

Scotland: Scotch
Ireland: Irish Whiskey
Canada: Rye Whiskey
US: Bourbon

The list of names is rather long so those are only a few.

You can buy Canadian whisky at any liquor store or bar in the US. The taste for it was started big time in the days of prohabition. Canadian Club or Crown Royal are usually available.

i have never heard of it, but they sell candian club here (so i'm assuming it's the same thing, never really read it's label carefully). but canadian club is absolutely disgusting, it's bottom of the line, cheap $3 whiskey. GROSS. it's what bums drink behind the liquor store by the garbage cans.

My guess is that they pay you to ask this question. So, send me a bottle and I'll tell you.
