first of all, good luck. you bought your puppy too early, it is against the law in most places to sell a dog before 8 weeks. (i know cause i also have a 45 day old puppy...what a coinkydink) when i brought him home he had 101 things wrong with him and almost died...most stemmed from the stress of being away from momma too soon, weaning too early, and a bad living environment. okay...here's some things to look for. are him gums bubble gum pink?? white gums means anemia and he needs a vet right away. is his stool firm or does he have diarrhea? diarrhea in a puppy can mean coccidiosis. check his stool for worms of any kind. i don't mean to scare you at all, but you have to be cautious with him. but to answer your question about if he's tired. he's a baby, and he very well could be. it's a big change for the little guy and will spend lots of time sleeping then next few weeks. about the eating. did you change his food? that's a fast way to deter him, or he could just be nervous. and if he hasn't eaten much, he doesn't have anything to pass as far as pottying. good luck, and i hope it helps.
(i am not a vet at all, but that is what my vet told me yesterday, so good luck, but if you are worried, seek the vet!)

He could be hypoglycemic. A lot of new puppies get this way. Is it a new puppy or an older dog? If they get too hypoglycemic they can die. Does he have other symptoms? You'd have to consult your vet to make sure he's healthy.
Symptoms of Hypoglycemic: any combonation of the following
lethargy (lack of energy)
weakness
head tilting
"drunkedness" - wobbling when walking, unbalanced
hunger
restlessness
shivering
ataxia - usually lack of muscular coordination, but maybe changes in head and neck movements
disorientation
stupor
convulsions or seizures
coma

Give him a chance to understand what's going on. Spend a lot of time holding him, and playing with him. At 45 days, he's barely aware that he's away from his mother. Patience, and love, and he'll be fine. Just make sure that there's food and fresh water available, and that he's aware of where it is.

When I got my dog he didn't eat much the first day. I think the new surroundings are such a shock to them that it just takes time to adjust. He could also be very happy that he has a new home and wants to just relax. We saved ours from a kill pound and after he realized that this was his new home he was so grateful and happy as could be.

What kind of dog is it? Could be low blood sugar. Give it some honey or Karp syrup. If not better tomorrow, take it to the vet. If you bought the pup, call the breeder.

wow, thats really young. Babies sleep alot (puppies, kittens, humans, etc). Watch the eating though...he get a little depressed from being away from the litter. It should clear up in a couple of days. She show him lots of love and affection, and he will bond with you.

Is it very hot where you are? The heat can cause pets to be very lethargic. If it continues for more than 24 hours, call your vet.
