Aloe vera is good and also you can take a bowl and mix like 2 boxes of ARM and Hamer Baking soda.. make it into a paste by adding some h20 (water)
put it on the sunburned areas of the body. cool down rinse off with cool water it also helps if you have itchy skin
If yo don't have the other items you can also purchase some noxema skin cleanser the cream that smells like menthol that one. yOu can smear that over your sunburns it helps to cool the skin and it helps heal sunburns.
In some cases I suggest if you cannot tan to stay out of the sun. Use sunblock and if you want your future generation to have that tan look try breeding with anyone with naturally dark skin. hahaah joke
i've tried these remedies and they work good for me but I'm not a doctor so use at your own risk

I use a remedy that my grandma showed me if you are sunburned badly you take vinegar on a towel and lay it on the sunburned areas it pulls the heat out and the towel actually gets extremely hot. I know you smell like a pickle but its worth it in the end then take a cool shower and put some aloe or Noxzema on it and your a lot better off. Enclosed a link so you don't think I am nuts I have something to back it up with

Aloe Vera & Noxema work very good Especially Noxema right after you get a bath. Towel dry & coat your self with it where you are burnt & keep that area uncovered for about 5 minutes to let it soak in your skin & not rub off on your clothes.
The best thing I ever found was this Aloe Vera Gel with mentholiptus in it. It was Blue I can't remember who made it though. I'm sure it is still out there just read the label & make sure it is Aloe Vera with menthol.
The menthol effect really cooled it off & the aloe kept me from peeling.
Good Luck & hope this helps

Vinegar is known to be the best for this kind trauma to your skin, then again is an old remedy that comes from grandma's believe.
There is an array of products that contain Lidocaine( a kind of anesthetic) that would relieve the pain, but it is not a curing agent.
Otherwise, try the best that Cleopatra used to use: a milk bath, and finally, straight vitamin C in liquid form, my wife's dermabrasionist swears by it.
Good luck

wow you have received many responses. I have been sun burnt and blistered so bad. I have had to go to the Dr. I was told not to use anything medicated. I was told for a sunburn, put plain cool yogurt on your sun burn. There is something in the the yogurt that easier the sun burn and makes it heal faster. It is all natural. I use to use Noxzema all the time, and was told no it may feel good at the moment, but it will slow down the healing process. I was also told to stop using vinegar, because that stings. The yogurt is nice and cool and speeds UP the healing process.

Aloe vera gives the burn you feel a cooling sensation on your skin. You can get it at any drug store, etc. Next time you go in the sun, use at least SPF 30 and don't just lounge in the sun. If you want a sun tan, it'd be better to buy the colored lotion stuff at the drugstore. I don't think you have to worry about this right now, but 60,000 people die every year from sun exposure. Just heard that on the radio the other day.

First, try an aspirin for the pain, or other pain killed, and get a cooling gel with Aloe Vera in it. Or, the oldest remedy is Noxema to cool it off.
Good luck!

Take an "as cold as you can stand it shower" for about 10 minutes. This will draw the heat from the skin. Then you can use aloe on it. We live in Florida and frequently have our "oh no....I don't need sunscreen guest" do it after a day on the boat or at the beach.
