I think that one of the most romantic things you can do to show someone that you love them, is to tell them that everyday. More than once, even better. Listening is a big one, and I mean, really listening, not nodding your head while you only half pay attention, but listening and responding and letting them know you care. Sharing with them the burden of their hardships as well as being there with them for the happy moments.
I think it also helps to compliment him. It seems like guys compliment girls a lot, but women are slow to offer up compliments to their guy. Always remember to say thank you and make sure he knows that you genuinely appreciate all the small things he does for you and don't merely expect them from him. Hold his hand. Let him notice you looking at him. Kiss him when he least expects it. Tell him at a random moment that he makes you happy, or tell him something you love about him, even small things, like the way his nose wrinkles a little when he smiles. Suprise him for once, take him out for an activity he likes, take him to a sporting event, fishing, for a sail, on a picnic, horseback riding, etc.
To me, true romance is in the details, it's finding out about what he likes, what he's interested in and what he's passionate about, and trying to explore those things with him...even if they aren't necessarily your favorite things. It's in trusting him and letting him be himself and spend time with his friends without laying on a guilt trip. Romance isn't all bubble baths, and sexy evenings, and candle-lit dinners. It's the everyday small stuff that are in actuality the big things that i think are romatic. Not that the other stuff hurts....but a good combination of all of the above does the best trick. ;)

I took my wife to the Tower of Americas in San Antonio. On the way to dinner, played a song by Neil Diamond "You don't send me flowers anymore." When we got there, there was a bouquet waiting on the table that I had reserved. Earlier in the week we watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory, I bought 5 Hershey's w/almonds (her favorite) and wrapped each of them w/golden tickets.
This past year we had our 10th anniversary, I took her to dinner then had a few friend's and close family meet us at a small chapel, where we renewed our vows. The whole thing was a surprise, but I think the biggest one was when my Best man/friend pulled out a new ring.

borrowed his car and bought the expensive tires he was eyeballing and had them put on,bought him two stripper girls for his birthday and told all the females the party started an hour and a half later than it really did and told a few guys when the party was really starting and showed up late with the girls, and blew up on of his favorite pictures of him and his friends and one of us and put them in engraved frames, and bought him a day at the spa, made him a homemade card on the computer instead of a crappy hallmark card and painted a shot glass and a glass for him at one of the color me mine places, he loved those the most and one of them called him jeffe which means boss, and said hmfic, head motherf$%ker in charge, it was a joke between us, someone thought I was too nice and he said they had no idea how bossy I am and was upset at the thought that someone thought he was like a dictator to me

When my boyfriend leaves to go back to TX, he's in the army and that's were he's stationed, I'm going to buy a bunch of G.I. Joes with a note on each one saying why I love him. lol If they're not in the military then I'm sure you could do something like that with whatever they enjoy. Hoped I helped.

Not essentially the most romantic factor, however simply the begin of many. September 29,1993 I wrote a conventional sort poem, tied it to a unmarried purple rose and had it brought to my spouse to invite her out for our first date. June eleven, 1995 (many poems later) we have been married.

I took a girl out to the movies and we decided to walk there. On our way, it began to snow heavily. Every time we would pass a parked car, I would write her name on the windshield. That did her in!
