It was only for like a month or so.
No one ever talks about this. I know the pope is suppost to be perfect but come on.
I hope I don't hurt anyone by asking this,
I just can't wrap my mind around this one.
God bless.

To those who are angered by my qustioning:( The idea that is wrong to question a beilef system is wrong). Didn't Jesus question the beilef system and rituals of the pharisees. Would it not be wrong not to ask about inconsistancys in the Mormon church or even Lavars Church of satan. Constantly question anything that gos against the teaching of Jesus.
This is an open question you do not have to get involved if you don't want to.
I'm not telling people what to think.

I may not be Catholic too but its the kind of question I would ask too. Bascilly in catholic religion ain't there some law that says that either the church says is law is also law in heaven. And that down grading hell to a state of non-existance and back again would raither mess up the believe that the church is right.

The pope is not supposed to be perfect. Catholics do not believe that. They do believe that in very special circumstances he can teach only the truth.
The Catholic Church has never changed its belief in hell, that it is real and it is eternal. It is in the Nicene Creed that the Church has used since the beginning.

If your not Catholic why are you asking unless you have the intention of degrading another persons religion. Why dont you go back to Bob Jones anti catholic klan meeting and mind your own business. If you used to be a Catholic GET OVER IT go read the upanishads.

The Catholic Church never officially changed its' position or teaching on Hell.

You may have read or heard something that was attributed to some preist, bishop, or cardinal. That doesn't make it official, or even correct.

What did you see and where did you see it?
