3-way tie: Mewster, Jesuskitty, and Cat. First two are names of the cats of a friend of mine; and I used to have a big old Morris cat who refused to answer to any name other than Cat. He was the coolest cat in the world and his spirit is still with me. Love you, Cat!

I think it's best to name a cat after something or someone that is important to you or maybe base the name on his/her appearance. For example, I named my two boy kittens Foster and Wallace after one of my fave writers, David Foster Wallace. My friend named her girl cat Maybelline because she looked like she had eyeliner around her eyes! My husband always says if we got two more boy cats we'd name them Jules and Vincent after the characters in Pulp Fiction, his fave film.
Naming pets can be sooo fun!

Most of the cats I've gotten, have had names of Egyptian gods. My current cat's name is Osiris. Egyptians worshiped the cats...they've pretty cool names!

For many years, my sister had a female cat named Buster. I still chuckle at the name...which turned out to be oddly appropriate; what a tough little kitty she was!

Lonnie, because that was my mom's cat's name a long time ago, he was a big yellow cat, I loved the heck out of him cause he was so full of love! Oh, and Lonnie meant "yellow" in the seminole language, so it was spelled La-ne!
