We lived in a log home and our Golden retriever thought the corners of the house tasted good too!
I took a spray bottle and put tabasco in it and sprayed it around the wood areas he had chewed. He stopped that real quick. Make sure you have some water out for him...lol

Go to the store and buy a spray product called "Bitter Apple". Spray the area the puppy is chewing. They don't like the taste of this and it won't hurt the wood. Why don't you try crating the puppy while you are gone. Also, you should buy a "kong", smear peanut butter inside using a butter knife and freeze the kong. It will take the puppy hours to remove all the peanut butter and because it was frozen, the cold will feel good on their puppy teeth.

You should try spraying something on the wood that won't harm it. And leave the dog several dog toys. Get him interested in something that he just can't live without. Also, have a neighbor or someone you trust come by the house when you aren't home like when you are at work. Also, you can use baby gates to keep him in a selected area away from windows when you are away. We crate our dog since we live in Las Vegas and is to hot to be outside all day. Crating is recommended by the Humane Society and several veteranians.

Separation anxiety. Make sure you leave her plenty of toys to chew on. And, I'd put something (spray) on the window that really tastes bad. Try petsmart. I used the bitter apple before, but my dog didn't find it that bad. You might have to put up a gate so that she can't get to those windows. My dog gets up in my bay window and uses her nose to push up my shades. Before she learned that, she almost tore them up. I've had her for 4 months now and I hardly go anywhere, so now she freaks if I do. Don't know if she used to do it with other owner. My daughters dog ate the carpet and the walls and everything else he could.

Use bitter apple spray, it tastes gross. And also get the puppy some strong rubber chew toys. Get a Kong, its rubber and you can put treats/food in it to get the puppie's attention. The pup's prob teething.

You can spray them with Bitter Apple spray, or Bitter Yuck (both from pet stores), or you can put a little tabasco on them. If it tastes bad she will stop, whether you are home or not.
