If my God ever asked that he/she would cease to be my God or Goddess.
Killing a child is beyond a sin. It is so dispicable that all who even consider it should suffer a much worse fate then our minds can comprehend.

What may sometimes sound like God is actually Satan asking. I once had questions of my own of things that God supposedly ask of us. There's a four-way test to determine if it is God talking. The first is scriptural. Is it in accordance to the Bible? Second is right. Is it right to perform such a task? The third is providential. Has the action provided itself to you? This means has some path opened to provide for a seamless or easy way to do this action. And fourth is reasonable. Is the action reasonable? This means does the action require a lot of faith beforehand, or is it reasonable to understand.
This impression of God asking to kill your child fails on at least three of the levels. Right off the bat it fails scriptural and morally. It is certainly not scriptural to murder, and it is not right. It is also not reasonable for God to ask this. It may pass 'providential' by a hair, but that I could not determine, and could easily rule out.
The point is that if it doesn't even pass one of these tests easily (and it fails miserably on three) it's certainly not God asking. So to straight-up answer your question, no. I would not kill my child if God asked me because he will never ask such a thing.

That Abraham test story, I believe, is a myth. All those rituals of sacrifice were practiced by ignorant pagans. I do not believe God would ever request one to kill anybody or anything. Hypothetically, if God asked me to kill my child, and I did, I could not live with the guilt. How could one enjoy eternal life with the blood of his child on his conscience?

That question could only be answered by a prophet and only would be asked to a PROPHET. God would not ask unless he had something to prove. then as you see in the Bible he had Abraham substitute a ram before he killed his son (The son was about 30 years old and knew what was happening). They were a similitude of the heavenly fathers sacrifice and Jesus.

I don't know I would like to think that I would but I hope that I never have to face this

God would not ask anyone to kill their child or children.
I know you are going to mention Abraham. But God never intended for Abraham to kill his son, it was a test.

God will not ask any of us to do any thing like that now, He asked it of Abraham, to show Abrahams faith in God to us, this was also done in order to give mankind a symbol of how God would freely give His only begotten Son Jesus for our sins, the sins of the whole world, God already knew that He would furnish himself a sacrifice (a ram in the bush) in the place of Issac. so God always have a divine purpose for everything He do. and you need to pray and seek Him to give you the true meanings, and understanding of His word. our God is real and He is Loving, merciful, kind and longsuffering, but He is also a consuming fire!

No - a God that would ask me to inflict that sort of harm on an innocent being isn't worthy of worship, IMHO.
I find the answers of "God wouldn't ask that so I don't even have to think about it" to be kind of amusing. Why are you ducking the question? My God/dess wouldn't ask that of me, either, yet I was able to answer the hypothetical.

i'm rather optimistic God knows i might fail the try. Abraham did no longer fail, it became a try It confirmed his faith. yet then you fairly already be responsive to this. I never be responsive to what i visit do in any situation for optimistic. God continually knows with the aid of fact he being God knows each little thing. So he knew what Abraham might do, the try became to instruct Abraham something. God already knew. besides this is my answer, take it or reject it. i did no longer stay sparkling of the question, your remark on the backside tells me something of your physique of recommendations hmmm no longer good, no longer lovey or dovey
