Tell her that having a puppy will teach you responsibility, because you will have another life to take care of. It will be a good learning experience that will grow and shape your life. Also, if it doesn't work out, just find another home for the puppy. If your mom feels like there is a way out, she may be more likely to go for it.

Convince her that dogs are a great thing to have, and that you are responsible. Tell her that if you forget to walk or feed or clean uo after the puppy, that you'll take the puppy back to the shelter without complaing. Parents like kids that are ready to take responsibility for there actions. If you love the puppy, ypu won't forget anything.

i had that same problem and I realized the only reason they said no was because they didnt think they would have the time and that i wouldnt be that responsible....my approach.....i had to wait and wait and beg my parents...most moms work at home but my mom didn't....i asked them if we could just check out the humane society (pet shelter)....it took a long time after i gave them books and reasearch and convinced my bff's mom to try to knock some sense into her.....all it took actually was for my mom to just check out the pet shelter....it was all she really needed for her to get all gushy and googly eyed.....but of course she came back to her senses and said we just wouldnt have the time....the only way i could get her to get me a puppy was to show her all the reasearch id done.....

1) http://www.kidsanddogs.bravepages.com/responsibility.html
basically this site talks about responsibilty and things like that

2)http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/ready.htm

reasearch on google and you'll get a lot more

there are also books
3) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1593783655/sr=8-3/qid=1154396242/ref=pd_bbs_3/102-7186753-8436134?ie=UTF8

Put all that reasearch into a powerpoint (parents like when you seem responsible and act proffesional).....if your mom has a problem with the house getting messy tell her that you'll get a small dog (although its not always the best).....like a shih zu or pomerian because they dont shed as much....if your mom says something about not having time tell her you could get it the start of summer and each day you'll train it....trust me whatever it is, she'll come around....convince her in the right way and everything will turn out great!!!!!

Assure your mom that you will take the responsibility of being a great pet owner. Write down a list of everything you plan to do for the puppy everyday to take care of it. After finish this list, give it to your mom.

First you would have to show your mom your compromise to take care of your puppy, and make sure your compromise is for a long time, some dogs lives up from 17 to twenty something. Good luck

You need to show your mom that you are responsible enough to care for a dog. Do you help with chores around the house? Are you ready to feed, walk, and play with your puppy every day? Are you willing to clean up after it? Poop is not pretty or nice smelling.
Will you clean the carpets when he makes a big mess of them?

If you are under the legal age then it is your mother's responsibility to look after an animal - regardless of your intentions/abilities.

If she says that this is not an option for you, I would suggest that you take her word for it.

Perhaps she might consider a fish or a hamster.
