so you don't have to turn on your stove or oven..... turn on the grill, have your husband do this since it's too hot to go outside yourself. While he's grilling a nice steak, you make a nice cool salad, and when he's done you've got a great steak salad!! No oven!!!

Seven Layer Salad

Bag of iceburg lettuce
1 large red onion, chopped
1 green pepper, finely chopped
celery, finely chopped
9 oz. pkg. frozen peas, cooked and cooled
1 jar of Hormel real bacon bits
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup Miracle Whip or real Mayo
½ cup sour cream
2 Tbsp. sugar
½ pkg. Good Seasons Dry Italian Dressing

Put the lettuce in a layer on the bottom of a large bowl, next the onion, then the green pepper, then the celery, then the peas, then the bacon, and then the cheese. Mix the mayo, sour cream, sugar, and Italian dressing and put in a layer on top. You can cover and refrigerate overnight. Don’t mix the dressing into the salad until right before serving.

sure...I'll give you 3 really easy ones that are really good

Summertime Tomato Salad
2 red beefsteak tomatoes sliced

2 yellow beefsteak tomatoes sliced

2 plum tomatoes sliced

1 pint red teardrop tomatoes cut in half

1 pint yellow teardrop tomatoes cut in half

1/2 C. red onions peeled, julienne cut

3 large leaves basil fresh, cut in thin strips

1/4 lbs. Gorgonzola Cheese crumbled

1 head baby frisee cored and cleaned

1/2 C. Citronette Dressing see recipe below

1/4 C. basil oil see recipe below

salt and pepper to taste


Citron Dressing

1 lemon juiced

1/2 C. extra virgin olive oil

1 t. garlic minced

salt and pepper to taste

Whisk together all the ingredients and set aside.

Basil Oil

2 large leaves basil fresh

1/4 C. extra virgin olive oil

Place ingredients into blender and puree for 15 seconds. Let stand for 30 minutes to extract the basil flavor. Strain through a fine sieve.

Preparation of the Salad

Arrange the salad on a large plate for family style service. Start with the larger beefsteak tomatoes around the edge of the platter. Place the frisee in the center. Arrange the remaining tomatoes around the platter. Arrange the red onions, gorgonzola and fresh basil on top of the salad. Drizzle the citron dressing and the basil oil over the salad. Season with salt and pepper to taste.


Summer Pasta Salad
1/2 pound tri-colored pasta, cooked and cooled
1/2 cup each assorted vegetables - carrots, broccoli, zucchini, etc.
1/2 cup sliced red onion
1/4 pound cubed provolone cheese
1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 bottle Italian salad dressing

Toss pasta, vegetables, onion, cheese and bacon. Add three-fourths bottle of dressing. Salt and pepper to taste.

Mix well. Refrigerate.

Before serving add more dressing and serve.


No Bake Mock Butterfingers
3 cups corn flakes, crushed
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
6 oz. chocolate chips

Heat peanut butter, sugar and corn syrup over low heat to melt. Stir in cereal. Pat into a 8x8 lightly greased pan. Melt chocolate chips and spread over top.

"COLD Tortellini Salad

* 1 bag of high quality Tortellini
* Chopped assorted vegetables (fresh sweet red & green pepper, sweet onion, carrots, celery, brocolli florets,and zucchini)
* 1/2 cup of fine imported Romano, Parmesan cheese blend
* 1/4 cup olive oil
* 1/4 cup of Balsanic vinegar or the likeness of
* 1 to 2 tablespoons of Mt. Olympus Greek Seasoning


Boil per instructions one bag of good quality Tortellini.
While boiling the pasta(around fifteen minutes) chop an
assortment of fresh vegetables. We like fresh sweet red
and green pepper, a little sweet onion, slivered carrots
(not to chunky), celery , and any other desirable produce,
Broccoli florets are good and or a little Zucchini is optional.
After boiling the pasta rinse thoroughly with cold water and cool the pasta to room temperature.
Mix the vegetables and Tortellini's in a mixing bowl you should have 60% vegi's 40% pasta.
Add 1/2 cup of fine imported Romano, Parmesan cheese blend.
Add 1/4 cup olive oil.
Add 1/4 cup of Balsanic vinegar or the likeness of.
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of Mt. Olympus Greeks Seasoning.
Mix the above thoroughly.

Serves 6 People

Easy Pasta Salad

Pasta salad is simply pasta and vegetables mixed with a delicious dressing. In this case, the dressing is your own Apple Juice Vinaigrette.



Yield: This recipe makes 2 to 3 servings.
Time: It takes 20 minutes (including pasta cooking time), start to finish.




You will also need:
Medium-sized bowl
Cutting board and small, sharp knife
Measuring spoons
Wooden spoon
Plates and forks


Note to the adult: Cook 1 cup (1/4 pound) pasta in boiling, salted water until tender. Drain it in a colander, rinse under cold running water, and drain again. Transfer to the medium-sized bowl.



Ingredients:
2 cups cooked pasta (tubes, macaroni, small shells, or twists)
Half a red bell pepper, minced (cut in tiny pieces)
1 scallion, minced (cut in tiny pieces)
2 tablespoons chopped black olives
6 tablespoons Apple Juice Vinaigrette
Salt and pepper in shakers




1. You have the cooked pasta already in the bowl.

Add the bell pepper, scallion, and olives. Mix them in with the pasta, gently with a wooden spoon.

2. Shake the jar of Apple Juice Vinaigrette. Open it and measure out 6 tablespoons, one at a time, pouring each into the pasta.

Stir again with a wooden spoon.

3. Add a few shakes of salt and pepper, stir again, and serve warm or cool

Easy Strawberry Lemonade

4 1/2 cups water
1 (10 ounce) package frozen strawberries, partially thawed

Lemon Tabouli Salad:
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups bulgur
4 cups boiling water
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 lemons, zested
juice of 2 lemons
1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
salt and black pepper to taste

In a large bowl, pour boiling water over bulgur. Stir in olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, mint, and parsley. Set aside for 30 minutes.
Fluff bulgur with a fork, and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Kool Aid ice cubes! Just buy a pack, add sugar, put in ice tray, pop it in your freezer! Or you can make juice ice cubes.

take some canned chicken and cheese, put it in a tortilla and on your george foreman grill and there you have a hot meal and it's not hot in the kitchen
