Why do some people shout racist slurs from their cars?

cause they think you won't follow them to their destination and kick their ARS.
and that is the only way they know how to hurt someone without running them over.
road rage is very dangerous, and you should have gotten the lisence plate and made a police report.
wreckless driving and civil rights violations are serious crimes.
on new years, in NC about 2 or 3 years ago, an old man and his wife were shot dead in their own home by someone with some serious road rage. there are some crazy people out there , so approaching the other driver is not safe in this situation. that is why people cuss each other. usually both parties will never really confront each other. but you never know what the other guy will do.if it bothers you . and i am sure it does, next time make a report to the police. cause if that person ever pursued their hatred to a higher level, and did something crazy, at least the police would have a lead,

I honestly think they're doing it just for the heck of it. I think they're trying to provoke anger. Also, I think that cities that have very small percentages of certain minority populations tend to be picked on and racist against more.

I'm a young black male and I live in Redlands, CA. I've experienced five incidences of people shouting racial slurs at me from their cars while I'm walking down the street here in Redlands. As I've mentioned before, Redlands doesn't have very many blacks, so that encourages people to feel superior and yell slurs because there's nothing to stop them from doing it and they won't get caught in the act. It also happened to me in 2012 especially during the Trevon Martin Incident in Florida.

It upsets me ,I find it highly disparaging and it needs to be addressed. I think some police action would help because you never know if the people yelling those racist name callings are members of hate groups. They could pull over, get out of their cars and physically attack their victims. So dial 911 if need be.
It's very important to be careful if they threaten victims lives. There's is a major need to learn self defense techniques just in case.

I am not sure why, and it is terribly rude. We live in a society where their is a segment of the population that think it is funny to be rude and disrespectful to other people. I would guess that people think it is fun to yell things from cars because their victims are helpless to do anything about it. They are cowards, and like the hit and run tactic as they them self will not have to deal with insults being slung back at them.

It's because people are ignorant and like to say rude things. They shout from the car because they are scared totell someone to their face. By being in the car it gives them a quick getaway and also a chance to say how they really feel without getting in trouble. People are just so ignorant and rude.

I completely agree, they most likely do this haenous act just because they're not brave enough to come out by THEMSELF (alone) and say it to your face. Saying it from a car gives them a false sense of security, but hey if this happens, try and catch a license plate #, and report it; here's the result: THEY'RE SCREWED! I had this happen once, and i chucked a pebble and nailed the rear window, (slur was not at me; and no glass didn't shatter), the guy just sped off. But yeah, i wouldn't blame you for throwing somethin at them, or using a paintball gun at them. Hope you don't encounter that!

I do road construction and get "slur`s" all the time from people DRIVING" by. Never once have they stopped to say it to our faces!!
Have u noticed that most of the time they are teenagers and have their friends with them?

They are too much of a punk to get out, and say it to someone's face. Driving, and yelling at the same time means they can drive away, and not face the repercussions.

Rarely do these individuals do it face to face. (Unless they have several "friends" to back them up.) They are basically ignorant cowards. So not even worth out time in discussing them.

Wow...haven't seen that one yet. Road rage, maybe? Whatever the reason, they oughta be careful...some of these fools are carrying guns in their vehicles and they ARE NOT afraid to use 'em!
