I have been on Celexa for a year now for OCD. It works very well for me and I don't have any problems with it, except it can make you a little tired. Are you taking Celexa now?

Celexa as antidepressants go is one of the cleaner medictions in terms of side effects. Every medication can have side effects. If you are having what you feel are side effects you should contact your doctor. A person can be the only one with that particular reported side effect. If you are having that side effect it is 100% to you and signifigant to you. Medications like Paxil have a higher incidence of side effects. This means that more people report trouble with side effects. Celexa now has another form out that is a "cleaner" form of itself called Lexipro which might be something that might help you or switching to another antiderpressing entirely.
Please look at this link and see if there are any of the side effects you have. Talk to your doctor and diguss the problems you are having. Every one is different and there are other options available and you may even have something else going on. If you are communicating with your doctor and being honest they can help you more. Hopefully you are seeing a Psychiatrist because they are the expert who can help you the most.

I took Celexa for a while and I loved it, then they came out with Lexapro, and I got switched to that, and that was divine. No weird side effects. I had a friend that took it and it helped him too.

I was on it for about a year and a half. For the first three weeks or so, as it was buliding up in my system, I was extremely tired. I decided to take it at night right before I went to bed to help with the drowsy feeling I was experiencing through the day. After it built up in my system, I totally felt the difference. I took it for depression and I immediately leveled off. No more mood swings or sudden bursts of tears. It really helped me get through a difficult period in my life.

Wow I must be the only one to have a bad reaction. It made me incredibly nervous, I could stand it even at half a dose. Funny how meds effect people differently.
