Proof that what is going on in YOUR mind is real or not?

Are you kidding me? Wait, you can't answer that question can you? You're not even sure that you're here, much less me!

There is no proof for this. I often wonder whether my "reality" is real or simply something I've made up. If you think a certain way, there is no way to prove or disprove anything- you just have to believe that what you "know" is true. I'm one of those people and I often think that what I think of as reality is just a dream or a lie that I've come to believe. I don't think anyone can really give you proof, but they can and will try.

Ask anyone who has been shot by a stray bullet, especially on the 4th of July or New Years.

Most people (at least in the US) feel secure enough in their environment that they do not ever think or believe they could be shot, that is until after it happens.

And, to the best of my knowledge, nobody who has been bitten by a shark or struck by lightening pondered that possibility to the point that they could have created that reality. A split second before or after it happens, maybe, but then you are accrediting the human mind with the ability to manipulate it's surroundings, and human nature would have destroyed the species long before today if even one person could have done that.

In a way, we do create our own reality. Everyone sees life a little bit differently, based on what we think and believe. So, reality is different for everyone. Sorry, I tend to agree with this little bit of philosophical rambling, so I'd not be the best person to make a counter argument against it.

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

The world is as God says it is.

You have given a pretty good definition of what faith accomplishes in us.

Belief is the mechanism God uses to open our eyes to the truth of the Bible. When we believe, He shows us a new reality about the world we live in. He tells us about a battle that is going on behind the scenes.

Read Revelations Chapter 12. The woman is Israel. The child is Jesus. See if you can figure out the rest.

2 Corinthians 4:3,4

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

God reveals in the Bible that we are like blind people before we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Like the old song,
I was blind, but now I see
I was lost, but now I'm found

Come to the Bible with faith and God will open your eyes also.

I have not made a choice in my life. Something has killed my entire family members and made sure I haven't known any of them by makeing me live with numerous homes and in the streets themselves. Most of my life has been hunger, beatings from strangers, evil looks from others. Any money I make is mysteriously lost or stolen from me. My greatest luxury was a fresh sleeping bag, then it was burned through. No, life is not what we choose. Riches are for those chosen to recieve it, family are for those who don't appreciate it. A roof over the head are to those who will never realize there is in fact, a ceiliing over their heads. And most of all, good luck is freely givin to the evil and darkest of souls. Murdurers will live on to kill more. Thieves will never be caught. Women beaters will live the rest of their lives with extreme confidence. Tough guys will never have tougher guys to put them in their place.
Just because you choose it, does not mean your life will brighten and things will not change. But only for the worse.

You can create your own reality by what you choose and think....life is a state of mind...your mind gives you the will to strive for the path you have chose....so therefore you can create your own reality..... to a certain point...after that there are things that we know are real and nothing can change them...you know easy stuff....water...fire....you know...and then there obsticals....getting fired....accidents......but these bring you back to your state of mind on how you handle them....i can find a new job....or i can be a bum.....its in your mind on how you handle them....some may take longer to get around...but life is a state of mind.....

Sure, you can creat a certain part of your reality, and you choose your own destiny by the choices you make in life. Your destiny is either heaven or hell. The choice is yours.

So, offer "proof" that I'm wrong.

Reality is what it is, your perception of it makes no difference to it.
You could prove this to yourself by taking LSD and finding out what it's like to lose your control of many aspects of your perception of reality while gaining others, but you would have to accept the associated dangers.

Ok......start running toward a brick wall as fast as you can. Close your eyes and believe with all your might that the brick wall is not there. It does not exist. There is nothing but wide open.....smack....aaaaauuuugghh.

Reality is real dufus.
