I'm so tired of this war. I think we have done enough in just helping form a new government in Iraq. We went over there expecting "nuclear weapons" and found no proof of it. I'm glad we done so much for the Iraqi people, but these troops need to be out of danger and with their families. Now, instead of being killed on American soil, they are dying overseas. Support for the war is at it's lowest ever. Democrats are uniting again to get Bush to pull tropps out.

Weapons of mass destruction is one of nearly 19 reasons Bush gave in his State of the Union speech before invading Iraq. Look it up. Contrary to what everyone is focusing on, we are not finished there. The problem goes much deeper than overthrowing Sadam.

First of all, Bush will not pull the troops out. He won't be president by the time they are out.

Second. Forming a new government would be money, time, and lives wasted if we did not stay to support it until it could stand on its own. Tensions are still high, and until the Iraqis have control we can't abandon them.

Third. These troops (myself included) new what they were signing up for. The military contract does not say that you will stay at home with your family. It involves going to war, and serving where and when your country needs you.

Support for the war is down, but only because Americans are impatient. They don't know what it takes or what's involved in setting up government. The people are, in general, uninformed or worse, misinformed. The Iraqis still need us, whether they know it or not.

And finally, WMD's. Saddam himself thought he had WMD's. The people lower in the chain of command were lying to him so they wouldn't be punished, but they had not yet developed the weapons he wanted. Their communications indicated that they were moving the WMD's before the UN was inspecting, so we (and Saddam) thought they had them.

I believe that enough research was not done in the first place. There was too much of a rush--a type of hard sell that focused on military solutions instead of diplomacy. Had we done our homework properly, we would have found out that Saddam was keeping the lid on a region flexing to overrun all the moderate pro-Western governments. The ideology and history of the people are such that foreign nations cannot impose their will on them. We were bullied into believing that there was an immediate threat and in so doing, we allowed Iran and North Korea to build up their nuclear supplies behind our "fatten the big boys" smokescreen. We have sacrificed our budget surplus and lives of our servicemen at the expense of the environment--with the real possibility that we have hastened global warming.

I think we've done enough for Iraq, too. What government? They are having a civil war. Oh yes, we've done so much for the Iraqi people, killed nearly 30,000 of them, a great number of them children under the age of 15. Bombed half their country to rubble, they should be grateful as heI* .

Created an inter-national scandal by torturing prisoners, many of whom have been released. Have soldiers on trial for murder and rape. Yes, I agree we have done so much for the Iraqis and we deserve to come home.

The lives of 2,500 of our young man have been sacrified , not for Iraq, but for oil, money and power. Yes, bring our troops home and treat them well, they deserve it, too.

I pray that our next president is a strong and decent man with the support of good men, he is going to need it for the chaos and hate Bush has caused our country and the world. Maybe someday our country will be respected again instead of feared and distrusted.

Not until we have a new President will things start slowing down with the war in Iraq. It was a bit odd how he actually, in one day turned his focus from Afghanistan to Iraq. And right now, everytime something pops up or gets a little hostile in a different country I worry that he will want to invade that country since he is so eager to fight.
My question has always been: Why didn't he look at his Father and ask his Father, "Dad why didn't you take care of this?"

Yeah "ditto." We are all sick and tired of this war. However, we cannot just pull out. They'll be mass slaughter over there. We are involved and must see it through...there is no honor in pulling out and it would be a a total dishonor to our troops who have made the ultimate sacrifice wouldn't it? What else can we do?Support the troops...most of them believe in it. So we must go along with them. When they start hollering we can all get behind them, not a moment before. There is an election coming up, pay attention and don't forget to vote. Good luck and say a prayer for perseverance in the meantime.

Hopefully before the end of his term. Like you I am tired of this war. Why ? Because our troops are being used as "security guards" and "policeman". There is no front line, no way of knowing just where the enemy will be from one day to the next. I support our troops 100% but they are being used in the worst way. One final note and this is just my opinion, but when we do finally pull out the new government will fail. Muslims don't want democracy.
Mark my words.

He will not be Pres. of USA when it happens. Bush Sr. had Iraq and let it go. Now his dip stick son has gone back and cannot figure a way out and will not be in office when the troops come home. Cause it will be along time. Bush is an idiot!!

That's easy. Bush or the next President will withdraw them when American either runs out of money or soldiers to send! I don't think it's fair to have these men and women on never ending tours of duty while their families are in difficulties back home. Meanwhile, the Commander in Chief is finding new constitutional powers the rest of us never knew about every week.

Bush will not be the one to get us out of these countries....

The next president will have to get in office and establish a time table....

I will be glad when my fellow comrades are safely back home...God bless them!!
