I don't like water very much. But I know that I need to drink it. Is there any way to get myself to like water more?

Don't force it. Conventional advice is wrong. You don't "Need" to drink it!
You don't need to drink 8 glasses (2 liters) of water a day. You certainly don't need 1/2 your body weight (in oz.) per day. You don't need ANY arbitrary target amount per day. Drink what you like and drink when you're thirsty. Period!

It is easy to drink any other beverage besides water because the flavor satisfies our appetite. It is much like eating. We (I) eat foods that appeal to taste more so than nourishment. If it happens to be nourishing, then great!

For me, I would forget to drink water (or maybe subconsciously, I didn't like water). Whatever the case, I came up with an idea to "earn" pops, juice or any flavored drink by drinking at least 3 of those 20oz bottles of water before indulging in a pop or a cup of coffee.

I try not to dwell too much on the fact that drinking water helps my body to cleanse and heal itself. That makes it sound too much like medicine.

Have you tried flavored water or something like Crystal Lite to help make it easier to drink? Also, keep in mind that you get water from other things like fresh produce.

Yes there is. Drink it. Force yourself to drink only water for 48 hours. Then anything else you drink will not taste as good.
