I've seen the movie. Also read some information on her. I think that something beyond mental illness was going on. It's really scary.
There are things we do not understand and never will. Some people can not accept that.
The exorcists tried to prove the presence of the demons, playing taped recordings of strange dialogues like that of two demons arguing about which one of them would have to leave Anneliese's body first. One of the demons called himself Hitler, and spoke with a Frankish accent (Hitler was born in Austria). Not one of those present during the exorcism ever had a doubt about the authenticity of the presence of these demons.

I'm still undecided on this one. But what I will say is that if a person truly believes that they are possessed, it seems to me that it makes sense that exorcism would be the only solution. The power of suggestion is powerful indeed. However, it is a little weird that she would claim to be possessed by people such as Hitler, Nero & the Devil himself, isn't it?

Well if you do a good search on emily rose. It tells you about her story. Which has nothing to do with the movie.

I have absolutley no idea. I never saw the movie.
But it is real. There are many references to it in the Bible. Many practiced it. It is sorcery and Isaiah 8:19 forbids it.
Exorcism is mentioned once in Acts ch 19 but is the casting out of demons by magic and forbidden. Yes it is real. Many evil things in this life are real.

The really sad thing is some people believe that mentally ill people are possessed by demons.

It's probably fake. Excorsisms are real but that's more than likely fake. Just another way to get people to watch a movie.

well it does state in the narrative that the story is true, also there are excerpts at the end, so excorism does mean casting out demontial beings
