I depends on how long your tongue stays swollen and sore. It's different for everybody. If you feel like trying to eat fried food go for it, if it feels bad when you are eating it then I would stop. Just remember for six weeks carry your Listerine and rinse after EVERY meal, drink, smoke, etc. I have had my tongue peircing for over 6 years and it's all still good, never had an infection. Keep your mouth clean and you'll be OK!

Right now is just fine. At this point, if your tongue is no longer swollen, normal foods won't adversely affect your piercing. Though, as a word of advice, don't try to eat too many things that require chewing, as you're more than likely to bite down on the barbell (which is oversized to account for swelling. Without the swelling, it'll flop around in your mouth, increasing the likelyhood it'll get bitten when chewing). Once you get your properly fitting barbell (about a week from now), you'll be able to eat anything you want again.

whenever you feel you can eat it. but its probably best to ask a doctor or a piercer. I worked at a restaurant and there was a customer who had just gotten her tongue pierced the day before and was going to attempt to eat crispy bacon....dont know how that went, but it just sounds like a bad idea. Wait at least a couple weeks, you dont want it to get infected or anything.

I ate them within days of having my tongue pierced. Just be careful with the temperature, and make sure you don't bite your tongue when you're chewing (it's probably a lot bigger than you're used to at the moment, due to the swelling).
If in doubt, call your piercer and ask.
Good luck!

Most people can get away with it after about a week... just carry a little bottle of listerine around with you and you should be all set.
