I am basically a very fair person. My nicknames have always been Casper and the like. I started tanning several weeks ago, starting out with three minutes and working my way very slowly up to 12. I went today and actually started to fall asleep. I thought that was strange, as I am never in there long enough to nod off. On the way out, I asked how long she had set the timer for. Her response was OOPS! A thousand apologies and a very bad burn later, here I am .... doing my best lobster impression. It's been years since I have allowed myself to get burned. Any suggestions?

one of the best things to do it, is fill your bath with freezing cold water and soak in it for like 20 minutes (draws out the heat) followed by having a cold damp towl over the soar bits such as legs and arms and do this overnight to ensure all the heat is out then after that. Put camoline lotion on it in the morning to ease away the redness.

Do not put any creams on until the heat is out of the burn as putting on cream will trap the heat and make the pain worse.

I do hope you feel better, oh fake and bakes much less painfull.

I know this may sound crazy, but if you don't have aloe vera or after burn cream I suggest shaving cream if you have it around. It cools the burn off. Be sure to sit in front of a fan for extra comfort and if worse comes to worse stand in a very cool shower

A very good friend of mine was burned in a tanning spa incident similar to yours. She told me that even though this stinks, try bathing in vinegar it takes the burning sensation out ... i hope this works and you start feeling better ...

i did the vinegar bath myself... it worked great for as long as i was submerged in the water.... in fact, i felt like normal... until the air hit it and instantly i was burning again..
i feel for you...
my girlfriend uses rubbing alcohol.... she says rub down with it... she says it will take the "sting" out of the burn... its very cold going on... but she swears by it...
she says do it every couple of hours if you feel the sting coming back.. and she adds not to put lotion on your skin until some of the heat goes away and all of the sting she says if you do, you will only lock the heat in causing you to burn more..
personally i would try the alcohol on my arm and see if it makes a difference before i put it anywhere else on me (but i'm chicken, though) lol
good luck... i do hope it helps you...

when you get burned nothing should be applied for 24 hours, it causes your skin to continue to burn and could cause more damage, When I got really burned like that a nurse told me to lay potato peelings all over my body the starch from the potato takes the burn away, best of luck

LOL.. sorry.. but it is funny.

Do you have any aveeno or after sun lotion in the house?

Drink a lot of water and keep the skin well moisturized with whatever lotion (preferably unperfumed) you have.

You're going to have to suffer for a few days and your skin will probably peel.

I hope they offered you a few freebie sessions for the screw up. ;-)
