Third World countries are mostly that because of First World countries involvement, so yes, I would say that there is obligation there. Instead of giving poor societies blankets and foods (don't get me wrong, yes it does save lives and it's needed to certain degree) we should help make those countries self-substantial, help them fight corruption and teach them to take care of themselves and their people in the longer run. Using third world countries child labour to make cheap products for first world countries or selling them "dirty" technology doesn't really help. Maybe we should try by building education and supporting fair trade instead.

Yes BUT only to a certain extent. I will explain:
If a certain country, say the USA, has a lot more wealth than another and that country is suffering from poverty and hunger, etc... then I say yes AS LONG AS it does not harm our country.

I mean like we would not help a country that hates us and want to kill Americans... see? Also, we should not help a country if it increases our deficit. That means that we have to borrow money to help.

Christians have a Godly Commandment to "love thy neighbor as thy self". Since I am a Christian I follow Gods laws in the way I live my life. God has told us in his word "the Bible" that this is and was his greatest commandment, they are not suggestions, they are laws we must follow. Republicans are Godless, so they don't see this the same as we liberals do.

I think we ought to help the people in our country before we help everyone else. we have people starving in our country that can't get any help, but we are sending millions to other countries.
