How much does homeschooling cost in South Carolina?

Just like glurpy said - the cost is really up to you. We buy several 'spines' that are used for several years (like the Kingfisher and Usborne Science and History Encyclopedias), then supplement all that with lots and lots of library books. You'll probably need a curriculum for math, but there are several good, inexpensive programs available (Miquon, Singapore). For language arts (English), you just need to figure out what they need to know (nouns, commas, periods, verbs) and then use reading and copywork to practice it.

Lots of people use prepared curriculum, like A Beka and Sonlight (and Bob Jones and Alpha Omega...) - those are generally pretty pricey (think college textbooks, although usually slightly cheaper).

HTH. If you have more questions, feel free to email me. Best wishes!

Homeschooling costs how ever much you spend on it. If you want to spend very little, there's a great book called Homeschooling on a Shoestring.
