I love my father, but he's not being the father he should be. He will ask me or my sister a question, and then put his hand in our face and say crap like "whatever", "forget it", or other mess like that. Why does he ask if he won't listen?!! Needing some serious help!! First answer 20 points!!

That kind of response is NOT a father. I have an 8 year old daughter and I treat her as an equal. She can come to me with whatever is on her mind. I have answers for her. If there is a situation that I don't like, we talk it out as 'adults'. That is the way.

Your father enjoys belittling both of you and that is a problem in itself. So next time you are about to answer a question be sure you know the best answer of simply do not answer. It is apparent that he will not listen so smile and say "your guess is good as mine" and see what reaction he gives; he really does not seek an answer he enjoys seeing both of you squirm and he takes pleasure in that. You can also repeat the question to him and see what he tells you.

girl i no where ur coming from i have one of those dad's, and it took me a while to tell him how i felt , and i did and it really help. i went up to him one day and i told him look dad i can tell you how i feel about something , and i don't have that ability with every one so are u gana take it or leave it. he said whatever i don't know wut your talking about. so then i stooped talking to him for a while and he started to realize wut i meant. so he came back to me one day and told me, that he felt that i wasn't as open to him. and he was right i didn't always tell him the truth, and we both realized that it was all about communication, that is very important no matter wut kind of relationship it is , either between a boyfriend, friend , or family member. keep it at mind

tell him how u feel and if he doesnt want your opinion on something but still asks for it tell him not to ask your opinion on any thing if hes not going to listen

just don't answer...if he ask why your not answering him...tell him that you hate being wrong 10 out of 10 times...so you'd rather not answer....
